    Shute Shield 2014

I have seen Lam play 2 or 3 times this year, and he has been a level above his team mates in each game.

I reckon that's a cracking idea. Not sure about Brisbane, but there seems to be a bit more of a buzz around the Shute Shield this year. Crowds seems to be much stronger this year, but that may just be the games I have attended.

    Reds 2014

No one has commented on his performance at Thiess,or IQ or wherever else he is a director. Just the ARU,where he joined in 2010 when they made $7M and were worth $29M. They have lost $26M and 90% of their net worth in the following 2 years. God knows what happened in 2013, because that result is...

Yeah I was referring to your comment, and no taking the piss. How is is ludicrous to suggest that his performance as an ARU Board member has been less than stellar?

You rate these guys above Luke Burton?

    Reds v Rebels, Sat May 17 @ 7:40

If QC (Quade Cooper) cuts four players to put the winger in the corner,to hit the lead.at full time. Everyone says he won them the game. What's the difference?

Hang on,what do you mean do more? His performance as a player has zero relevance to his performance as a director.

    Sydney Colts - 2014

Your predictions will be Pretty close big arse, except I am more bullish about Wests, and I think Parra have the game to frustrate Wicks, which appears to be the match of the round IMO.

He seemed very comfortable in contact against the big boys didn't he? I see him as a wing,as he is reluctant to pass until all his options have expired. He'll get plenty of opportunities to counter on the wing, and he is very good in broken play.

What you say makes sense about the first yellow, and it explains why there were no further penalties. When a yellow card offence is reviewed, and no further sanctions are applied,it does not mean they were exonerated. Merely that the yellow card was deemed an appropriate penalty.

I agree with Horwill, not so much Genia. I think the Reds are no longer getting a reasonable bang for their buck there. Maybe he needs a new challenge as well.

Yeah,I am surprised they are considering Brooks at all this week. I'd be blaming him before the ref. Gross act of stupidity!

    Sydney Colts - 2014

Well there are two mentioned earlier in the thread, Stewart & Clunies Ross that have 1st grade experience. That's a mismatch against opponents that are at Colts 2 & below. It's got nothing to do with anything else. Despite your desire to turn it into something that it's not.

    Sydney Colts - 2014

Settle down,in the context they were discussed, they would be players without a huge scrapbook, that are not rock stars and do not have a manager. A mismatch of a player of Colts 2 standard against highly rated, well known players who have 1st grade experience and National selection in the 20's squad.

Don't think the Reds can afford him under the salary cap. It might be best if he signs with the Tahs, and gets to acclimatise slowly to soup footy.

The point was more about who these elite programs choose. The NGS starts in 16's. Look at the list of the big boppa's that had in their program for 3 years, and they couldn't teach them to catch and pass. So either their coaching,or their recruitment is crap. The two pro players you quote, one is...

Please, give me a list of star soccer players that were successfully recruited into rep Rugby players after 16. An AFL recruit would do.

They hit their peak in yr 12 because it's an unlevel playing field. If a kid training twice weekly can compete with a rock star who is training 9 or 10 sessions a week,it's logical to expect that he will leapfrog the rock star when they compete on equal footing.

The strapping quote was in regard to it being evidence of a player carrying an injury. The context was, that these boys were playing whilst already hurt, whilst the special ones were not required to risk their injuries. Sounds like you don't think heavy strapping is evidence of someone playing...
