2017 TV ratings and crowd figures

David Gallop is about as popular on some of the soccer forums as Pulver is on here following the recent TV deal they signed! The One ratings are pretty interesting. We sort of assume getting on FTA is an end in itself, but it just shows there's a lot more to it than just getting the coverage...

2017 TV ratings and crowd figures

Japan v Aus 40,000 in the stadium (good turnout and WR (World Rugby) will be pleased to see it with the World Cup approaching) 91k on Foxtel (which, given the timezone, is pretty awful - but EOYT never really rate well. This explains why none of the FTA networks want to pay for the games) No sign of NRC in...

Japan vs Wallabies, Nissan Stadium, Yokohama, Sat 4th Nov 4.40pm AEST

He's had 1 yellow card under Cheika (so 1/2 of one total) Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

Japan vs Wallabies, Nissan Stadium, Yokohama, Sat 4th Nov 4.40pm AEST

If that happens, cheiks will have an experienced international 10 in Hodge to substitute in for Foley Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

QC (Quade Cooper) has got himself a yellow card 5 times since Cheika has been coach. He's never going to pick him again

Japan vs Wallabies, Nissan Stadium, Yokohama, Sat 4th Nov 4.40pm AEST

Hodge will be fine. He'll get plenty of tips from the coach who moved from another position to play five-eighth (Nathan Grey)

Ok. I don't think anyone would disagree that would be ideal. Do we have any? Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

    Reds 2018

Good. He still owes the Reds and Australian Rugby quite a bit at this stage of his career

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Do you think the Top League/JRU are going to permit a rival for their players and fans if the comp is set up in the July-Nov window, when the Top League is currently played?

Even if you find the next JON they won't have the $30m war chest to play with and disappear like Mr O'Neil

    Barbarians Australian Tour 2017

He never grounded it! The penalty for unsportsmanlike behaviour is a penalty and the ref restarted the game with a scrum - so maybe he had a bit more of a feel for the nature of this game then he's been given credit for.. The move broke a few of the technical restart laws as well imho I...

I'm a bit less pessimistic than you, in that I don't think they'll get in the way of the comp happening - but I do think there are some things the ARU can't compromise on * Competativeness of Super rugby teams * Wallaby eligibility for Oz teams only They can compromise on the competitiveness...

Why do you think they would want to stop it?

Japan vs Wallabies, Nissan Stadium, Yokohama, Sat 4th Nov 4.40pm AEST

If Beale plays at 15 hopefully none of the opposition teams have watched him drop nearly every bomb he's had to deal with since he's been back.

    Wallabies EOYT 2017

Think beIN already have the digital rights as well - they just charge us to see them. Aru getting in bidding wars for this sort of stuff seems like a really bad idea Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

    Wallabies EOYT 2017

SBS picked up some of the games last year but take your point, these are really unattractive games for the commercial broadcasters. It's just not worth them paying what the rights holders charge
  18. Strewthcobber

    Wallabies EOYT 2017

Yep - Bein have the rights for the European games, Foxtel has the Japan game. There's no anti-siphoning legislation guaranteeing away test matches if no one wants to buy it so there may not be a FTA option. Doesn't look like anyone will pick up the Japan game at this stage

    Barbarians Australian Tour 2017

Coach of the Barbars having a crack at the referee is certainly newsworthy. Alan Jones having a massive whinge about whatever subject (even if justified) isn't. If you're interested turn his show on.
