    Cheetahs vs Waratahs - 2011R05

Topo, you usually have good inside information, so now I am really worried!!! If they do it I would expect Fitzpatrick to walk at the end of the season.

    Reds vs Rebels - 2011R05

Nah, use the tactic that the Tahs have used with such distinction and success. Pick the best 15 every week and leave the subs to rot on the bench, even if a player gets an injury.

Tried Waylon Murray last week. Got me 17 points. He was OK for the first two weeks but has gone downhill badly since.

    Lions vs Force - 2011R05

Beware Paarl, the Force are starting to look like a very workmanlike team (similar in some ways to the Lions). Not a lot of flair or big stars but a team that is really hard to get on top of. The backrow is going really well, which means that the breakdown is hard to dominate, and even an All...

    Waratahs 2011

You are probably right about Holmes if Hickey is selecting, but I started with the question "What would strengthen the overall squad without totally damaging our chances of winning?" Top squad thinking vs top run-on team thinking. The game against the Cheetahs is not a final.

Kaplan is reffing Ireland v Wales

Do you think that the Ireland coach should try the Dr. Ward solution? Unless you've doctored the photo that decision is so criminal it deserves jail time.

    Reds vs Rebels - 2011R05

I reckon that this is a real banana skin of a game for the Reds. Not only are the Rebels stiffening up in defense they are also improving their attacking options. I can see Cipriani making mince-meat of Cooper's defense given the right opportunity. The Reds cannot afford to lose too many more...

    Waratahs 2011

Taking them lightly is a question of attitude. That's in the mind, and its the coach's job to make sure people's minds are right. Given the last game performance everyone, not just Kane Douglas, should have a flea in his ear. Everyone should be on notice that the last game was not good enough...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

You're not wrong about luck and timing. I imported proven stars, I tried not to pick players from teams that were going up against a front-runner, spent hours weighing up players against each other. Got absolutely smashed! My imports all had their worst result so far. Being the triple bye...

Kaplan is reffing Ireland v Wales

I seem to recall that the wallabies lost a test to (the Blacks??) under the same circumstances about 3-4? years ago. No matter how much you scream, the TMO can't help you. Can't recall who was reffing, it probably wasn't Kaplan because there was a huge stink about it at the time.

    Force v Blues - 2011R04

I'd agree that we should trial JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 in the 3N to see if it works, with both Barnes and Cooper at 10. Gits would come off the bench so they go head to head. For the WC I would choose whether Barnes or Cooper started based on the need for a strond defensive player vs need for the best...

    Reds 2011

The Ioane move was flagged in the forum between three and six months ago, so its not a surprise. Some of the other forecasts are new, I haven't seen the Turner one before, so that's a bit of a surprise. I'd doubt he'd have any reason to leave because I would guess he's on the maximum Super...

    Matt Giteau's Yellow Card?

This entirely misses the point. In the past two games the Crusaders have been clearly advantaged by refereeing decisions. The advantage was not result changing in either case, but that misses the point too. Everyone is becoming so used to the Crusaders getting an advantage that down Crusader...

    Rebels vs Sharks - 2011R04

And you're expecting consistency from Pollock??? I reckon Paddy has him and Bryce Lawrence down as the next great referees, which means they can be as bad as they like and they won't get reprimanded.

    Brumbies MOM v Crusaders

Interesting that these two players are under significant pressure for their spots. Desperation seems to make a little bit of difference no?

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Whats the story with Owen Franks? He's recorded as having played zero minutes but I'm sure he came on as a sub? This will put me down to 12 active players and three possible subs this week because no matter what I did I couldn't select 15 starters due to injuries and selections ramping up my...

    Waratahs 2011

In Deans eyes he is almost certainly 5th or 6th at best. Deans wants THP's who are good in the loose, score lots of tries and who know what side of the scrum they have to stand on. Being able to stand up to a Crusaders or All Black scrum is not in the job description. In four years time...

    Brumbies MOM v Crusaders

The yellow card wasn't harsh, it was just 100% wrong. The close up showed Gits did roll away and did not touch the ball and Ellis just fumbled it. Although the Crusaders are playing awesome football, they are also getting 100% hometown decisions. I wish the assessors reports were public...

    Rebels vs Sharks - 2011R04

I think the comment relates to how well the crowd supports their team. But when you think that the Tah crowd to see the Cheetahs game will struggle to get over 20,000 and the brumbies crowds have been closer to 10,000, then 15,000 for a completely new team in AFL-mad Melbourne doesn't look too bad.
