I am badly out of touch. Do we have details of the structure of the 2018 comp Including thirds?

I'm not absolutely sure that ii is fair to say to accommodate TAS after five years. In any event, wouldn't the same result have arisen if it were Grammar or High playing? So it would have been Kings v New in the first and seconds, High or Grammar in the thirds. Kings 16As would have played New...

Quick Hands wrote: "It's unfortunately true that 7 Newington teams had no games on Saturday. Not a great way to finish the season. Turned a 5 game GPS season into a 4 game GPS season." Blockhead, it all gets complicated. This season was the sixth since the thirds competition was started. The...

And so we have come to the end of this year’s third’s competition. It was a year in which eight of the nine schools played with, on my understanding, Newington dropping out for the greater good. Newington thirds would have been clearly competitive, and I remain of the view that they should...

I want to start this match report with a shout-out to an SJC boy. Today was a chapter of errors. I was up late, missed my bus (it's a long way from home to HH), then I came into SJC from the wrong side. The place is a rabbit warren and I couldn't find the main field, nor could the workmen I...

I had the Joeys 15B win score at 39-0. No doubt you are right. The other TAS/SJC scores I have outside the Firsts are: TAS 13Bs v SJC 13Es Joeys won 20-15. TAS was two players short, so two SJC players played for TAS TAS 13As v SJC 13CS TAS won 23-5 TAS 14Bs v SJC 14Es SJC won 41-21 TAS 14As v...

Just looking at bus routes. I do want to get across to see as much as I can. As OEP said, TAS has some good players. However, just based on the pre-seasons, SJC has to be favoured. But TAS doesn't get so many pre-season matches so starts more slowly. Whichever way it goes, it should be a great...

Do we have any other thirds scores?

This seems to be the final score between TAS and High, although that's not absolutely clear. TAS up 33-5. This suggests a more even second half, with TAS 14 as compared to High 5.

That's a very good point, OEP. If you take the 83 kids who came to Armidale for that session, someone must have interested the kids. It may just be TV, it may just be parents, it may be other kids. So why were they interested enough to come? In most cases, you will find (I think) that they...

Sometimes I feel like a walking promo for my old school, but I quote from the Northern Daily Leader (link at end): "AUSTRALIA’S national rugby side may be having some challenges on the field, but that has not dampened the enthusiasm of 80 youngsters who are attending a camp at The Armidale...

I have absolutely no problems with the idea that where teams are weak that they should be able to play a different grade. Rugby has become a very physical game; we need to recognise that. Outside the professional grades rugby is played ( and watched) because it is fun. I think flexibility will help.
