Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

And in the unlikely event that he is suspended for the third test, is there an avenue of appeal? Or are we in kangaroo court land? Dunno if CAS or even the Australian legal system can help here. One thing is for sure, there would be one hell of a shitstorm if he was suspended. Think a few...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Another unwanted distraction before the second test. IRB are appealing the not guilty verdict for James Horwill. Pricks... http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/international-rugby-board-to-appeal-decision-to-clear-wallabies-captain-james-horwill-of-stomping/story-fn5k35fo-1226671065638#.Ucw2ePkyYvk

    Rebels 2014

Interesting piece on the VRU ARU takeover of the Rebels: http://www.theage.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/rebels-owners-hand-back-licence-20130627-2oyy9.html Bill admits in the Article the ARU should have done more up-front \to start the franchise (in terms of capital) and really paints a...

It actually looks more like a 1950's dance move than a tackle. No disrespect to Mitchell, it just shows to me the whole thing was totally over-blown and the citing commissioner was trying to set some sort of example...for what purpose I don't know.

Mitchell out for one week, or effectively the rest of the year. Fairly soft if you ask me. http://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby-gold/lachie-mitchell-is-out-of-action-for-the-melbourne-rebels-for-a-week-for-his-tackle-on-simon-zebo/story-fndptz3t-1226670253797

Rebels v Lions - Tuesday 25 June, AAMI Park

I remember that - would be a fairly soft citation as it's looked OK on replay. He lifted him, but didn't look like he dumped him on his shoulders/head. Zebo didn't look mad either... Speaking of replays I couldn't help but laugh when, after Woodward's failed penalty attempt (from a...

It is a shame, but you might as well make hay while the sun shines. I think with the current stock of wingers and utility backs who can play win he probably saw the writing on the wall. At least we can say we helped him achieve his goal of Wallaby representation.

Rebels v Lions - Tuesday 25 June, AAMI Park

Good game to be at last night, despite the result. The highlight for me was the headbutt administered by Cayden Neville on some poor BIL outside back around the 35min mark. Put a smile on my face and made a few BIL fans near me wince. Yea this got me confused too. I thought he came from...

Rebels v Lions - Tuesday 25 June, AAMI Park

That's my biggest concern - where to get pints before the game tomorrow. I usually sneak in a couple at the Cricketers before most Rebel matches, but I reckon heading up near church st would be the best option. Perhaps even Beretta's Valcluse might be far enough away from the sea of red to get...

    James Horwill cited for stamping

They don't wanan stuff this one up; let him off and the pommy press will whinge worse than the famous grey/hill touch-up of 2001, ban him for any tests and the Australian public (me included) will be baying for blood. Personally think they don't have the stones to call the captain. I've only...

    VRU 2013

There also used to be some feeding from Croydon (myself included). Not sure how much this happens anymore. A lot of the inner-city teams like Melbourne and Quins are fed well from the private schools in the area (St Kevins, Xavier, Scotch etc...), however Box Hills don't seem to have this...

    Rebels 2013

Not sure either. Guess Quins and VRU/Rebels have worked out some kind of deal. It would seem most of the RR matches and state rep teams train there. I often ride past at night and see rep teams train, when Quins are not training. I'm either guessing a VRU/Rebels deal, proximity to CBD or...

    Rebels 2013

Nope, it's a day match... You are correct, Box Hill doesn't have floodlights over Pitch 1, just over Pitch 2. Probably one of the reasons why it stays in such good nick over the year.

    2013 EOYT

Higgers will be out after his shoulder reconstruction. not expected to resume until pre-season 2014. Rest of the team looks great. Inman may be a bolter.

If I can recall even worse mud - the Croydon grounds. I played juniors up there and in the middle of winter it would just be one bog mud puddle. The clean green/white jumpers would just be black after about 5min. And the smell of that mud could outlast religion.
