Interesting that Woody was saying he was looking for a lock and a loosie on the podcast.

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

It is comparing apples to oranges but there is a fair case to say the Reds have managed thier injuries better. The way Link has rotated the squad and used his bench to keep his squad hungry has helped. It masks the significance of some of those injuries. Losing Horwill in round two and...

The Elsom Saga - Clubs withdrawing offers is all the rage...

Elsom vs Higgers is kind of a mute argument to an extent. It is more about how they intergrate into the team. Both players have traits that make them similar. Higgers must be doing what the Reds want out of him and his consistant selection is evident of that. Genia and Cooper have the Reds...

    Phil Waugh retires

It is the end of an era for me and this is a big part of the reason. Over the last 10-13 years the stand out for me in Australian rugby was the triangular rivalry between Smith, Waugh and Crofty. All shining lights of loyalty and integrity and men who would bleed unconditionally for the jersey...

    Andy Friend Sacked!

Full credit to Andy Friend for not telling his side of the story until end of season. The bloke has shown nothing but integrity. He also acknowledged his faults. Fagan on the other hand seems to have his head up his back side. How you can try and justify sacking a coach on the final year...

    TPN gone for 3N...

I agree but maybe the result of a bit of player burn out. To be fair it was a big learning curve and one in which a player normally has more experienced collegues to guide him through. Saia was a bit unlucky not to have that benifit. The Silver lining in this is another hooker is about to...

    TPN gone for 3N...

The latest injury certainly relates to the first point but the trainer having to put him together every 5 minutes throughout a game is deffinatly a case of the second point.

    Phil Waugh retires

If his mother in law is as ugly and brutal as Phil, I truly feel for him. ;) I think Bruce summed up Phill's potential view really well. I don't think #1Tah meant anything disrespectful in his post. #1Tah, just a little tip mate. It can easily be viewed disrespectful and poor form to...

    Waratahs 2012

Tahs really need to sort the coach issue out so they can get serious about recruiting. Just a thought, if Horne and Barnes pull through their health concerns, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) will become a very viable fullback option. Turner could also as well.

    Bokke Tri Nation Squad/Camp

Not the thread to discuss it Paarl but Australia has these social issues also, especially in the North.

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

This game could go eitherway but I can't help feel Eden Park is a huge advantage for the Blues. By all accounts it is a tough place to play. It is important the Tahs do not go into their shell as they have looked naturally coherant in the last couple of weeks. I wouldn't be game enough to put...

    Bokke Tri Nation Squad/Camp

To what degree is a quota system of any value these days? I don't like the idea of anybody being judged on skin colour in any context. We also have to remember that racism is a two way street. What was a proactive development tool yesterday may not apply tomorrow. I don't claim to have any...

Reds v Tahs semi or Stormers v Tahs, what would you prefer?

Should the Tahs win, I would like them to play the Stormers and the Reds the Sharks. Neither have had the chance to play those sides and it would add something different. What ever will be will be though.

Just play the game the next weekend. I know it's old fashioned.

    TPN gone for 3N...

1/ TPN is just unlucky with injury. 2/ TPN needs to revise his technique. He needs to understand he can be an impact player without being a mad man.

    Phil Waugh retires

All the best for the future Phil. Great player and ambassadour of the game. Good to see him leave with his legacy intact.

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

Yes most certainly. The Blues have their own injury battles also. If you are refering to the Reds as the other foot, they have had there injury concerns also and yes they haven't used it as an excuse. All I am saying is go and give it hell. If they want it bad enough they will pull it off.

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

Pre fabricated excuses. You are going to field 15 players like your opposition. Just go out and give it hell.

    Sitaleki Timani

From a strategic standpoint he is valuable to Australian Rugby. Big unit with youth on his side that plays THL. From a personal stand point he should play for Tonga. Horwill has quite a few years ahead of him and Timani will only serve as his replacement. It is clear that Simmons is being...
