    Semifinal 1: Reds V Blues

I am not that fussed who the Reds play. I think that the boys have the capability to beat any team. Our reserve Prop is the major area of concern for me.

Fotu Auelua - WC no 8?

But you are ready to exclude Higgers from the squad because you don't think he is up to international rugby when we have only seen him play international rugby at the end of the flogging we gave the French last year. I don't think that Deans will pick him as I think Higgers is a better option...

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

Considering all the injuries that isn't a bad team. Lets hope Holmes has one of his good games.

Rugby-Penalty shootouts introduced for tied Super finals

Maybe they could just play sudden death until one team scores so we can all relive the excitement that was the 1997 Super league Tri-series final. It will become a field goal kick fest.

Waldrom selected in English RWC training squad

Also to add my 2 cents I would play for any country that would have me if I was good enough. I would have a preference of playing for Australia but if I wasn't wanted I would be on the look out for a country where I was.

Waldrom selected in English RWC training squad

He was the RPA player of the year for the 2010/11 season. That indicates better form than he had when he left NZ. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_union/13558646.stm

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

And this is the issue. Clubs need to look at implementing at strategy for long term financial viability. They also need to realize that winning a premiership does not provide a financial windfall. You are better off securing the long term financial survival of the club as this will attract more...

    QLD CSS Representative team 2011

The CSS team is training at Sunnybank today and I must say they have some big boys in the team. I would expect that they would go quite well in the lineouts if they can work together. Also some of the Northern players look quite good too. Lets hope they put on a good show against GPS 1 tomorrow...

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

I think that the Tah's injury list is a fair point to mention. They have missed a lot of guys for a lot of games and managed to come 5th in a hard competition. They do have a couple of things in their favor though. 1) they are playing the Blues who have managed to looses quite a few games in...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

My point is that if some of the other clubs invested their money into improving their club and implementing sound financial practices then they wouldn't be "struggling" as much as they are. I think that paying players isn't the wisest investment for the long term viability of a rugby club.

Reds v Tahs semi or Stormers v Tahs, what would you prefer?

I think most people here would like to see the Tah's make it to the semi's but it would be nice to see them play the Stormers as it would mean that the Reds would play the Sharks.

    Phil Waugh retires

He has always been one of the players I have disliked the most playing for the Tah's so that is a reflection that he has been a wonderful player for them. At Wallaby level he was great. I think the Tah's will miss him greatly as there are no standouts to take over his leadership role but I am...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

I find it interesting that Sunnybank gets singled out when other clubs make significant spends on players that could be directed into development.

Red Tape Busters, a grant writing service, had an article about it in their latest newsletter so I would assume that it is the real deal.

    Sitaleki Timani

I hope he plays for Tonga and has a long career for them. He is just the sort of player they could use in their pack. It would also mean that he can play in France and not be counted as a foreigner so becomes a lot more valuable to the clubs there. I hear that he is off to Japan so it doesn't...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

It is interesting to note that Wests have secured funding ($150K) for a full-time Development Officer for the next 3 years. I wonder what effect it will have on their rugby program and the recruitment of talent. It will also be interesting to see who gets the role.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

Nice idea but I don't think that the QRU would go for it. They are in a financial struggle too and need all the money they can get. Also the funding for Premier rugby comes from the ARU and is distributed by the QRU. The QRU doesn't put any of their own money into the comp so has the ARU cut...
