Depth is the issue, always has been. I posted something similar in the Where To thread, but I think we just have to form an 8 team domestic comp and then proper rep teams from NSW and Qld can play the NZ provinces at the end of our comp just like back in the 80s and 90s.

Domestic it is: Sydney Western Sydney and/or Hunter (country) Brisbane SEQ (country) Cambra Melbourne Perth Drua Rep teams can challenge NZ provinces like they used to back in the bad old days. Worked then.

The skills part is debatable, better accuracy with passing maybe but in league you go into contact trying to hold onto the pill, in union you are always looking to retain possession in other ways. 90% of the attempted offloads in contact in league end up on a patch of grass nowhere near anyone...

We definitely should roll on as it’s these games that likely will be weighted more towards the Wallabies selections. But it depends if Slim is up for it I guess.
