Possibles vs Probables Friday 3rd August 6.45pm kickoff

Look at the crowd that turned out for the Tahs at Brookvale. They'd definitely have drawn more if it were hosted there. But the event was 'sponsored' by Warren Livingstone's We Love Rugby and we all know how tied to Leichardt Oval he is. I am finding the discussion a little bewildering at the...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

That line is there to include the two Japanese teams. Which as we all know are corporate teams.

Possibles vs Probables Friday 3rd August 6.45pm kickoff

Yep. With WSR suggesting that they will be running a 14 week competition and the apparent push to move Super Rugby back to a single round robin of a similar length I think they're certainly an opportunity to expand on what does appear to be an interest in watching local content in more intimate settings.

Possibles vs Probables Friday 3rd August 6.45pm kickoff

More toward the $30 than the $45. I agree with keeping the kids free.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Part of the accessibility issue could be solved via controlling the digital rights element of the equation.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

If that were to occur I'd actually prefer it to be Adelaide based.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

They did the same with the SMH site around the same time. I was actually at a presentation featuring their creative department about 7 months ago where they were speaking and a member of the audience pointed that out. The guy speaking didn't seem to care (he wasn't in charge of the site just...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

This is what I've been hoping to see more of. Actual news from the organisation. If I were WR (World Rugby) I'd be on the phone to RA emphasising the importance of the region in regards to future growth and suggesting that they don't screw it up.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The Fairfax guys closed that particular loophole a few months back.

It's allowed the game to actually flow. Imagine that.

    Australian Rugby / RA

The AFL's numbers on things like participation and membership are as rubbery as they come. Drove past some AFL posts. You're a participant etc.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

In essence yes. But that's not necessarily a bad thing as the NRC now resembles more the traditional representative model that has existed in the game in this country below that of the state based system. We have City and Country in Qld and Sydney and Country in NSW plus a Canberran/ACT team...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Well, there are currently 8 teams in the NRC. It wouldn't be all that difficult to add 4 or so Asian teams.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd argue they would struggle to find the talent to fill out their proposed expansion teams without hurting the overall standard of the A-League let alone a second division.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'll be honest. If they did do a WS team properly I would in all likelihood support it. I guess it would all come down to execution. And you could still have some kind of Cup competition between the two. Say if WSR were to do that they could have one in WS (they could call it Sydney for all I...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

And I actually think that would still work in either competition but not because it would necessarily hold mass appeal (not saying it wouldn't) but because it would be highly targeted toward a select demographic with significant populations in the region.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I agree. Which is why if the WSR team wants more Australian teams then a moving the Rebels across and permitting them to start up another team in somewhere like Adelaide (without RA financial support) and then have a post season Cup competition between tall the Australian teams (leading into...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yeah, I'm not sold on a second team in each Sydney and Brisbane running in a different competition sharing it fan base with another on a week by week basis. From a Sydney perspective say if it were a Western Sydney based team may be if it had its own distinct fan base but not one that see's fan...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

According to Andrew Hore in the SMH what is needed is to focus on the fans wants and needs. Which apparently is the round robin format. Which still has the issues of teams disappearing for weeks at a time.

Yeah, read it on planetrugby. Pity.
