How do you pick a good Wallaby player from that crap?

Can't say I saw him do much to great effect tonight. Some might be bemused by his substitution but i thought Pocock was getting around the park at least better than Smith and both Palu and Elsom were 'fresh'. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was about the only guy that looked threatening when OZ had ball. But he seemed to...

G&GR Wallaby player of the Year: Boks (Brisbane)

And that chip and chase he did down the left side where he chased down Morne showed plenty of gas as well. Sure he didn't have a perfect game but I thought these two plays gave the rest of trhe mob a big boost. One poor play I thought was when AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) made a break from the OZ 22 and Mitchell...

Wallaby Bok Brizzy Post-Match post here

If Fa'ainga has been playing week in week out then surely he'd get the call up over a returning Gimli. Moore for 80minutes no matter what though. On the passing, just a question, can Giteau even pass to his right while running with a bit of pace?My impression is he can't. He can pass to his...

G&GR Wallaby player of the Year: Boks (Brisbane)

3 - Robinson - a young Greg Sommerville in the making. Rock solid at the scrum and gets involved around the park. Made the advantage line in his ball carries unlike Alexander who got driven back in the tackle due to poor body position. Great game from BR. 2 - Pocock - geez he covered some...

Wallaby Bok Brizzy Post-Match post here

The concern with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is that he is the best FB in this current squad. No Shepherd or Gerrard, means he's next best. And long (long) term Rabbit is probably best at 12. While Mortlock still has half a leg to stand on then I can't see AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) being put at 13 at his (Mortlock's) expense.

Eddies v Marist ends in a brawl.....

U18 Div I final at CanberraStadium tonight. Plenty of fans and banter between the two rivals. Marist started vey well and then Eddies turned up the heat in attack through their hard running winger. Eddies scored the next 3 tries to go up 29-10. Then in the 2nd half some argy bargy broke out...

Wallaby Bok Brizzy Post-Match post here

Hey naza OZ has had plenty of success with ''2 steps back'' halfback play in the past, so might as well bring it back with Genia... Genia has an urgency, yet composure to his game that Burgess has failed to show this year. I wouldn't throw Burgess out to the cleaners just yet, but I wouldn't be...

    QLD Reds 2010

Noddy - what about promoting Anthony F to start at 12 and have Cooper settle into 10. After his stint with the Wallabies this year I think he will mature a bit. Lucas to the bench. Ioane should sign and then he will start at 13 again surely. Best Aussie back this year by far, he made inroads in...

    Barnes joins Tahs!

So it appears they have the missing link. So more pressure will be on the Tahs to "not stuff this up". A Barnes/Beale combination, mmmmm not sure about that, but I'm sure Clarkeeeee will jump all over it as "the one". Question is, will it be any better than Barnes/Cooper? Still a couple of...

Rumour of the week: Tahu back to League?

Mowen is pants IMO. Robinson at least gives the appearance that he's getting stuck in at the breakdown. As for Tahu - it was funny listening to Kearns and kafer last night talk about "missed opportunity" given how little Tahu played. While he had an excellent League record I do think the ARU...

    15th team

They're not the ''mystery'' bid. Two separate bids from NZ and one expected from Saffaland. On the West Sydders bid, how can anyone take Papworth serious. Every time I listen to him he just sounds bitter and twisted, like he's getting back at someone. That press conf was poor IMO. Stick to...

Re: 2009 Shute Shield In Sydney and might take my son to a game. Any suggestions on the game of the round - Warringah v Eastwood ?? Randwick v Gordon??

Wallabies v All Blacks, Game I

The mark wasn't the issue, it was the execution. Disagree that this is the first occassion that such an interpretation has been made. The ABs did a dumb thing in one of the early tests by trying to do one of those really quick 22 restarts where the player just kicks it over the line and then...

Who will be our starting half back in SA

Giteau anyone...... Barnes to 10, Morty to 12 and bring in Cross or shift AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). O'Connor to FB Mortlock rarely has two poor-ish games in a row, so he will be fired up and will want his hands on the ball more often. Not sure Burgess is the guy that is going to provide the service that will see...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Game I

Come on Lindo, the succession planning was well on its way. Lets not forget the great Matt Henjak era....... On the reffing, Laurence would have made quite a difference IMO. His officiating of the breakdown is different to his countryman. Laurence isn't so quick to blow the whistle at a...

    "We're close"

It was a shame that Genia was out for the early tests as a bit of time under his belt probably would have meant Deans would have had more confidence in bringing him on earlier in the piece. Other than 'that' tackle, he showed in the S14 that he has a better allround game than Valentine, Phibbs...

    "We're close"

It was a tight game IMO. I certainly agree with the post game interview that there really isn't much between these two teams. OZ might be deflated because they "were close", but they have a couple of weeks to get over it. Is Jim Williams teaching the Wallaby forwards to pour into the...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Game I

The penalty had already been called for holding on. If it was play on McCaw would/should have been penalised, but the ref was not entitled to reverse the penalty that already stood because of what McCaw did.
