Oddly, Harris at 10 and BB 12 may not be a totally out of the question...(which imperfect scenario is the least imperfect is my thought pattern..)

BB now the 10? IMO, it'll be bad for all parties to rush QC (Quade Cooper) in at 10 for these Tests, maybe off the bench and assess that performance before he gets more time?

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Correct Richo: he's moved onto a '...it's a Test and we must win it so all players from all S15 teams will be considered and used...' footing. How this obvious Test-respecting notion is consistent with the previous and recent 'Force and Reds players only as they have a bye' footing, has not been...

    Wallabies 40 man squad

Jake White's view of Mowen's exclusion. Yes, there's bound to be a bit of bias here, but White's opinion should be respected:

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

Point taken Vidiot. My comment re the QAR was provisional after just 1.5 games; it typically takes a top player at least 3 full and demanding games to come back into match fitness, especially after such a long absence. For mine, during June, I'd much prefer to see QC (Quade Cooper) playing Brisbane Premier...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

IS, I doubt the net additional P&L to the ARU from this Newcastle game will be too attractive, smaller stadium, lower per head prices (I assume), etc. I think the TV rights payments from Fox or Nine already cover all Tests that may be played, and so I doubt there'll be incremental Fox or FTA...

    Wallabies 40 man squad

I'm sorry, I just must come back to Mowen's exclusion. Contrasted with the inclusion of the just-started-in-SupeRugby Mogg who plainly has talent, but is also just finding his feet at this level and is far from error-free. I know there's a positional quota issue with 15 cover in terms of depth...

Andy Robinson 'confident of upsetting the Wallabies' and 'repeating 2009': http://mobile.news.com.au/news/scotland-coach-andy-robinson-confident-of-upsetting-the-wallabies/story-fndpt9s1-1226368530649 I hope Robbie is confident of 'not repeating' one of the Wallabies' most incompetent tactical...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

The most remarkable aspect of this stupid Test re Scotland (stupid as to its ridiculous timing in relation to ongoing S15 commitments and the important Wales Tests to come and the concomitant heightened injury and squad risks, etc) was JO'N's recent casual declaration that this Test was set...

    Wallabies 40 man squad

Before we get excited about the 'new faces', a 40 man 'training squad' mathematically virtually had to have some. The crunch will come - in terms of Deans' latest thinking - when we see the final 22 for Wales 1 when player choice is unconstrained by the S15. I note that the media release...

Surely Link gets 8+/10 for his latest post-game pressers: honest, no BS, clear language, open about tactics needed and used, no hype, etc.: http://www.foxsports.com.au/Rugby/039we-got-it-tactically-right039/video-e6frf4pu-1226367983798?subcat=1111112039622&site=FoxSports Close was the high...

2012R14 The battle of the TAHS (Chee vs Wara)@ Osfontein.

fp, who is defense coach now at the Tahs? Surely not Foley himself? You're absolutely right: the Tahs' historically excellent defense has been slipping all year. The model a la Deans and backs where a head coach takes upon himself a specialist coach's role (on the grounds that he knows all...

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

Brumbies were so very close though, J White, Mowen et al have built an outstanding team of low profile players that's a great credit to Australian rugby.

Gnostic did you not recall that after Wallabies v Ireland @ Suncorp Deans anointed Ma'afu as 'coming of age as top class Test prop'.

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

Based on the actual times we have sighted them as captains, I think there's no doubt that Genia would captain the Wallabies better than Pocock, and that's no disrespect to Pocock whatsoever. Pocock has not shown much as a captain yet, and IMO Genia was excellent in Horwill's absence in 2010...

I never quite get as to why the Reds don't go down to Canberra a bit earlier in the week to acclimatise. 1.5 days seems short to go from Brisbane 7pm c.16deg to Canberra 7pm c.2 deg.
