    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

That is the mother of all worries in conditions like this, and his S15 kicking in open play has been hardly purposeful and pin point even in mild conditions. The theory that BB is so much better a player in Tests - partly as he has better backs available, etc - will be exquisitely tested...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Hmm. With winds (currently) forecast for anywhere between 50km ph and 90km ph in the evening, lots of bombs and open field kicks might present a risky strategy for both teams. In these conditions I'd prefer a possession-is-king biassed game plan and grinding forwards work in phases up the field...

Yes. And didn't BB play at 10 in that match? Btw, if the winds are as severe as forecast, tries and possession will be the keys as kicking will be a lotto-like nightmare...and this stadium is largely open-ended to the posts.

    Springboks Squad named

Indeed, and a major virtue as head coach. Now all I ask is that J White and H Meyer have a quiet coffee with our Robbie and coach him a bit on this simple art of plain explanations for coaching and selection decisions. Aus rugby fans would be jubilant to see improvements in this area of Robbie's...

    Reds 2013

Roughly, isn't it something like this (in terms of possible final rank positions): Outcome A: Reds top Aus Conf at rank 3, they then have home qualifier round and rank 6 team comes to them; Outcome B: Reds don't win Conf but scrape in at rank 6, then they travel to rank 3's home (and if by rare...

Press releases from the ARU Media Unit

Indeed, too right rt. I think TT knocked this (very comprehensive) media release out: - whilst also compiling detailed Wallaby game plans and instructions for all 22 players v Scotland; - immediately following a 12km ocean swim off Coogee Beach; - during the consumption of 6 large...

What is wrong with the Tahs

Drew M is getting in plenty of practice with this sort of PR support. Mid-2011pre RWC he wrote - or was interviewed and stated - a gushing piece elaborating on the fine qualities Rocky was displaying as Wallaby captain, and what a great job he was doing with the players, the right...

    Springboks Squad named

100%. And a side comment: the Wallabies Asst Coach who contributed most to your correct assessment - P Blake - has been sacked for 2012. Not entirely clear if Totality or Blades will be responsible for defence in 2012.

And the quality of Harris' boot - or otherwise - might end up being decisive on the night. ....as it was so for Gits' boot and the 2009 Wallabies

What is wrong with the Tahs

Yes. I think you may find that if what you want is genuinely and consistently achieved for at least 2 sequential seasons, the Tahs will soon enough win an S15. Without having to try too hard.

Yeah, thanks, my slight mis-recollection as to pre or post Test 1.

    Lions v Sharks - Super Rugby 2012 Rd15

Bb - great to see the Lions got this good a win, and f-ing good on 'em. They were by no means a poor side at Suncorp. Now add that to your first ever RSA team win at Suncorp, and this season's looking pretty good for you, isn't it? ;)

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Umm. I didn't find any 'conspiracy' or allege one. Just posited a possibility, which I explicitly deemed 'speculation'. And one I don't consider remote, I'm more cynical than you re Deans, and I think I have (over time and multiple data points) a rational basis for it.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Delighted you're convinced that players' public tweets re their exclusions from key squads are just simply the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Maybe, time will tell. But being able to play 80 mins of a very tough game v Brums in cold Canberra conditions but yet somehow not up to at least some bench time in one or two Tests...doesn't make sense to me.
