    Rugby Coaching

That is by far the hardest age group to coach. With all the changes happening in life it is hard enough to keep them in sport and Mum and Dad are not cool to hang around with. The mentoring side of junior coaching really comes to the fore I find here.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

They were traing outside this morning on Sky News.

    Rugby Coaching

Good point about the big kid Hugh. I like getting the kids thinking for themselves in how they will handle the big kid. They know they can't bring him down one on one so they have to start working as a team and I find it good that they brainstorm as a team to deal with him/her. I find it very...

    Quade Cooper interview Channel 9

For all the shit people hang on the bloke, it is a good reminder the he is only a human being.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has to distribute more. He pulls defenders in then never capitalises on the opportunity he has created for his outside man. We have seen him do it but he needs to do it more.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Good point. In relation to a wider game, the advantage of Barnes is we can use Cooper to attack at 12 on occaisions giving him that little extra time and space. It is hardly a secret that if you shut Cooper down you effectivly shut the Wallaby backline down. If we want to stop a defender in...

    Rugby Coaching

I hit the agree button on your post but this one is tricky. Most of the time, the biggest victim of the arsehole parent is the child themselves. The age of the child has a lot to to do with the best course of action in this situation but I prefer to deal with the parent myself and not burden...

    Rugby Coaching

You have got to get their self confidence up, getting over the fear of contact. I recon it is one of the best parts of junior coaching.

    Rugby Coaching

I have coached juniors and a big no no in my view for coaches is tearing strips off of your players in front of their team mates. Love your work Mr Jarse, great thread.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I personally would like Ant Fainga'a at 12 but one important facet the Barnes offers is the drop kick. Two legitimate drop goal options in Quade and Berrick could be very handy indeed. Both players have proven to be reasonably astue in slotting them over in the past.

    RWC QF2: England v France (W Pool B v RU Pool A)

Never barricked for the French in my life but man I hope they pound the cheating Poms and send them packing.

RWC 2011 - Odd shaped balls

The cheating Poms should not of advanced. They should of been striped of all points they got out of the game they got caught cheating. Somoa and Scotland can be their own worst enimies at times but they played the game fair and in the spirit it was intended.

    RWC 2011 QF1: Ireland v Wales (W Pool C v RU Pool D)

I think Wales will take this in the Backs. Roberts and North may be the point of difference. Interested to see who Ireland go with at ten.

Not another "Four More Years Boys"

When the tier one nation tour the Northern and southern Hemishperes they should either travel through the America's or Eastern Europe/Japan. It would be far more benificial to the game to run the dirt trackers in these games rather than a Europian club side. I would love for us to host the...

RWC 2011 - Odd shaped balls

Georgia man handling the Poms. Game 2 where Romania put up one hell of a fight against the Scots The precision and Organisation of the way Canada play. Russia leaving their first RWC with 6 tries. Tonga putting the French away. Poor Namibia, hopefully the draw is kinder to them...

RWC 2011 - Odd shaped balls

With the pool matches over and the minnows going home, respect is one word that springs to mind. They came to the cup looking to have a go and they have been inspirational in punching above their weight. Respect has most certainly been earned and cheers boys for giving us some solid rugby and...
