    Reds vs Waratahs, 2011R10

One of the silliest things I've read on this thread.

    Reds vs Waratahs, 2011R10

Yeah, Kepu is becoming a phenomenon.

    Reds vs Waratahs, 2011R10

Only if you don't like rugby. A truly compelling physical battle, huge hits, players run to a standstill. Not one for the barbecue, but one for the battlefield.

Well done Reds. Phenomenal defence. :thumb

How fast should referees be in top level rugby?

He seems to get faster as he gets fatter. I think he has his own gravitational field.

The linguistic skills of our national coach

Phonetically, i.e. woll as in wally, instead of wool as in woolly.

How fast should referees be in top level rugby?

The French have a long history of running.

The linguistic skills of our national coach

Langthorne, it is a Kiwi rugby tradition (some might say obsession) to try to get the pronunciation of Islander names right. I expect it stems from the much larger Islander population compared to Australia. We try to do the same with Aboriginal names. I would be quite annoyed if some redneck...

    Reds vs Waratahs, 2011R10

TOCC, you should read the gracious comments by Waratahs fans on this thread, as a guide. :)

The linguistic skills of our national coach

Bruce, he was probably being culturally sensitive. In Tongan the pronunciation of L is closer to an English R.

Blues vs Rebels, North Harbour Stadium - 2011R10

Mortlock and Gerrard are good defenders but too slow to stop the Blues doing what they did to Hangers and Cross last week. You can't crunch someone in a blockbusting tackle if you can't get near them.

Waratahs in talks with James Haskell, Mike Phillips and Dwayne Peel

A marquee player should be world-class. Whether S15 salaries are enough to attract a world-class player is debatable. The whole scheme is flawed.

Cooper Vuna named in Tonga squad

Sure, but the question was whether it should be the the rule, or whether multi-caps should be allowed. The fact that something is currently a rule isn't an argument against changing it.

Cooper Vuna named in Tonga squad

Why? (i.e. Serious question) It stops poaching, agreed, and therefore in theory (but not necessarily in practise) protects second and third-tier nations from being plundered. But it also damages those nations by barring the return of players that have been capped for major nations. As...

    Reds vs Waratahs, 2011R10

Daley's not 'much better' around the park than Robinson, if at all. Robinson has exceptional skills in addition to his work in the tight. You'll often see him at scrum half for rucks for the Wallabies, and making turnovers like a seven.

    Private Fantasies for RWC 2011

Sharpe is an acceptable loose head lock, just not a tight head lock. It's a different position. Quade Cooper's not a tight head lock either, and we don't hold it against him.

    Private Fantasies for RWC 2011

Regarding TPN, Hickey is running perilously close to seriously damaging the Wallabies chances with his continued selection of an obviously unfit TPN. So what if TPN 'wants to play'? That is ludicrous on every level.

2011 Wallaby And Australia A Teams

I've always been a Tom Carter sceptic but he's been highly effective for the Tahs this year, continually troubling the defensive line with powerful straight running and providing extremely solid defence. I think he is well ahead of Anthony Fainga'a on form this year. But he is still too slow for...

2011 Wallaby And Australia A Teams

As it should be. We're very lucky to have two world-class hookers at the same time.
