Canes v Reds at the Cake Tin - 2011R11

So finishing above the Tahs is more important than winning the competition?

Raugbee is Stuart Dickinson and I claim my commemorative whistle.

    Wallaby Outside Centre

If A Fainga'a is the Wallabies 2nd choice 13 then we truly are screwed. Far better to bring in one of our ample wing stocks than push out a journeyman 12.

    Wallaby Outside Centre

Sharron Flahive is one of the most experienced sports medicine specialists in Australia. I don't think you get to that level without having some character.

    Biased Home Town Match Officials

It wasn't 50/50 in this thread.

    Gnostic's Week 11 - Form side

The Force played infinitely better than the Brumbies.

NZ on War footing with Australia

    I didn't see McCaw binned.

    Tahs V Rebels, SFS, April 30 - 2011R11

Even 5th or 6th is a loser given the Tahs' away-game capabilities.

    Biased Home Town Match Officials

There's nothing more embarrassing that a moan about the referees. Maybe if your team had played better they would have won. Maybe Quade is corrupt. That crossfield kick in the dying moments was too monumentally stupid to be anything other than blatant match fixing.

    Depth, or lack thereof

3 or 4 extra games certainly does count as an extended season. We're at the limit now of what players can endure without significantly increasing the injury risk. Any more and we'll have to run seriously weakened end-of-season tours like some NH nations do.

Our players cheat just as much. The Kiwi players simply demonstrate superior skills at it. I don't believe for a moment that your complaints would lessen one iota if neutral referees were used. You will still have been robbed by the time the game ends.

The ABs cheat smarter, especially in respect of how and where they take penalty risks. They are particularly smart in the red zone.

Canes v Reds at the Cake Tin - 2011R11

Professional referees are always impeccably fair and honourable. I don't think it reflects well on anyone to say otherwise, especially when the knowledge of the rules by most fans is so laughably limited by comparison. Usually, when supporters claim to be robbed, it is because they know...

You lost me with Carter playing a long-term Horan-style role. Do you mean as a commentator? Otherwise a good post. Sorry about the dissent. >:D

Yes but the dash from the beer garden to the bar doesn't count.

    Wallaby Outside Centre

I agree on Dennis, Brown_Hornet. He has exceptional dynamism and has made some of the best runs by any forward in the S15. It buggers me that Hickey continues to use him as a bench option.

    Wallaby Outside Centre

Good post Godfrey. These may not be the best Wallabies ever (although they might grow into that role) but we've never had depth like this before.

Better than the limited Fainga'a. I suspect both Faingai might be struggling for a starting role with stronger players coming through.

Halangahu - Carter - Cross: Worst NSW Midfield Ever?

That's hard on Turner. He can't beat a man but he has an outstanding highlights reel: he scored some cracking tries in S14, not least the corker where he leaped high to take a Beale kick out of Dan Carter's hands in a final.
