Bulls v Rebels, 12 July @ Loftus Versfeld

OK lads, this is our last match for the year. Both teams coming off a loss last weekend and both teams just playing for pride. For the Rebels we need to win this AND the Cheetahs to get NO points (i.e. no win, no BP) from their match against the Lions for us to avoid the wooden spoon. A...

    Rebels 2014

When the sharks start the du plessis brothers and Alberta on the bench they weren't playing to win. SA conference looking after it's own interests.

Sorry that was meant to read 'TT lacks attacking nouce and overall game management / strategy'. I assume the game you refer to was the force match? Perfect example of a lack of strategy / game management. We were getting flogged and yet we kept doing the same thing.

This is a facet that I've been thinking about in relation to TT and success. On the rebels 15 thread we talk about the re-signing players wanting to work under him because they get the best out of him. Previous role at the Wobs was something of a skills coach. Looks like he key skill was...

They did before the start. Looked out there when he played.

Didn't see him go down, but could be. I was more fascinated by some of his binding on Toby in the scrums. Looked more like a lock bind (through the legs) than a traditional flanker. Don't think it had much effect because he switched back to normal.

Looks like big red and lopeti are on a flight to SA today. Edit: my guess lopeti will cover higgers who will have a week in the stands, looked like Pyle was cramping and may have been injured.

The turnover at the maul was largely due to our abnormally high body height. It got better as the game went on, but most of those turnovers were in the first 20. Tom English looked brilliant on the left wing, took his chances and got some meat. Would have got more if he didn't confuse the 5m...

Full time. 34 - 17 lions. Really lost it in the last 15. Altitude fatigue kicked in. Game closer than the scoreboard suggested. We had our chances.

I'm hoping the cheetahs continue to suck, that might save us.
