    Rob Horne

Good post. I like the TPN Group idea. But, mister Torn Hammy, you are hereby barred from posting about Horne ever again. :)

So, the Australian scrum. Am I worrying too much?

Exactly. And Robinson isn't our scrum. We have excellent backup. Ask yourselves this: how many current Wallabies would be picked in an England pack? The answer might surprise you. I'd venture to say Palu, Horwill, Sharpe, Pocock, Elsom and Moore. Kepu on current form would stand a chance...

Mark Gasnier announces his retirement from mungoland. To come to Rugby?

I agree with you Joe Mac. There are lots of pluses to these signings when they don't cost the ARU a fortune. He's a drawcard. He's a nice bloke (nicer than some bitter rugby fans, I might add). And he's a brilliant footballer. Under Link he came within an ace of being a very good rugby player...

    Samo Samo Samo!

How fast was Gerard then? Damn, the impact of hamstrings on an athlete is dire.

    Does anyone have a link?

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

I believe that for a year or so Robinson was the best loosehead in the word.

    Samo Samo Samo!

From Grumbles today: I'm as guilty as any of being mesmerised by the young guns such as Pocock, Beale, Cooper and JOC (James O'Connor). But Radike really warms my heart. If he gets out there this year (and I think he will) then everyone in my house is going to be chanting "Samo, Samo, Samo!". What a...

I thought he was straight back into it last year. Made a fabulous run in the Bulls game. Got some MOM points on here.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

Good attitude, light. But I'd go a bit further. I feel we can be competitive in the scrums and occasionally dominate the lineouts.

HodgoBerro is Ben Mowen and I claim my free lineout jumper.

    strategies for the tri nations

No, I doubt we'll pack a scrum with Kepu and a hooker. We're rather more likely to pack a scrum with Kepu, Slipper and a hooker. I rate Sliper as a scrummaging prop, although not yet a fully developed one. Most of last year he stood up very well against very well regarded opposition. He...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

jay-c, here is an excerpt from the match report for a certain game played at Twickenham in Nivember, 2008: I was there that day. 60 thousand Poms, collapsing into their pints. It was bodacious. Allez le Fuse!

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

Nah, Slipper's a much better THP.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

Yes. We can't afford to lose another one, or our chances really will be compromised.

    strategies for the tri nations

Nonsense. Kepu has developed into a very strong scrummager.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

Hornet, there's no reason Slipper and Kepu should underperform in the scrum. Kepu was the outstanding scrummager in Oz this year. If Robinson and Slipper is considered acceptable, then so should Kepu and Slipper.

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

Okay I'll bite. At provincial level and against most test nations, Baxter is a very good scrummager. He has grown better over time as well, and not unusually for a THP. He has only been found out against the best scrummaging nations, who targeted him. He also has a fantastic temperament, and is...

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

There are a lot of drama queens on here. Wallabies sunk?! England favourites?! As my old dad used to say, get your hands off it. This is an important loss, but winning or losing a world cup depends on many things. If Fatcat was the switch, then we were always f*cked. We have plenty of backup.

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

So, light, which team will you support if Rocky is picked? The All Blacks are the next best team, I think, but they'll have a few players picked on reputation as well, including their captain. England are a smokey, but they also have a reputation for picking old trundlers such as...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

I think Kepu covers both sides. If he's on the bench, he slots in for whoever is injured. But personally, as our strongest scrummager, I think he'll start.
