    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Is anybody going to Scots v Kings?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

I don't know that TAS will be underdogs. They were competitive in all their games in the 2nd XV competition last year - except one - and beat Riverview. If the 2013 team is of a similar standard this year they should go OK in the Threes.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

That is the case with Joeys in most seasons though they have lost their natural advantage of their 100% boarding over the years with things being so tough in the bush and having to get their numbers up with day students. That, and some other schools doing what they are doing. It has been...

GPSrow has written an excellent blog previewing the 2013 GPS 1st XV competition here: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/?p=47598&preview=true

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

There is a blog I wrote about the tournament here: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/junior-wallabies-in-the-race/ I will add the TV broadcast details when I get a return email from Foxsports.

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

CFS will not be starting the tournament but will be available as a shadow player when released by the Reds. A summary of the changes: Out: Siotame Kavapalu, Jock Merriman, Matt Phillip (all injured), Samu Kerevi (visa), CFS (Reds.) In: Pettowa Paraka, Angus Pulver, Ofiu Manukeu-Archibald...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Agree with cyclopath's post. I think we should put up a blog every week of the CAS games - just brief reports, then combine them in one blog. They don't have to be War and Peace: just a sentence of introduction - or two - a paragraph on the scoring (matter of fact - maybe one for each half)...

Guys - we're still looking for volunteers to write some match reports for GPS games. Please send me a "conversation". Thanks LG

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

Somebody told me yesterday that South Africa had withdrawn from the tour to Oz. I have no idea if it is true or not - anybody else hear that??

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2013

Agree: it's probably his best position. Like a lot of elite schools players, he plays beyond his years. This doesn't guarantee success as a senior player because others catch up in rugby maturity a year or three after leaving school, but his prospects are open-ended at the minute. If he...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2013

Thanks - it makes sense for the Alstonville lads to gravitate over the Tweed River: Jake McIntyre does his National Academy stuff in the Red zone.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2013

That's a good base from which to discuss things. I saw Barker play in Rd. 1 of the CAS v. Knox, and Barker winger Tyson Davis could have claims and so could Harry Jones as a fullback. Amongst other things: he has a huge punt to use for exits. Apparently Scots are playing A. Kellaway at 10 so...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Trial game - SJC 26 — Kings 17 That was a fair reflection of the merits of the teams: Kings had more possession and territory - or so it seemed - but Joeys knew what to do better with what they had, especially in the first half. Both teams were rusty and unimpressive at times but now and...

Blues vs Brumbies - Round 15

If there is a good thing about Palmer's injury it is that Sio can start every week. There is a preview of this match and the other Oz games in a blog I did here: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/preview-aussie-matches-in-round-15/ .

    Reds vs Stormers, Newlands 2013

Couldn't agree more. I wrote about some of this stuff in a preview of this match, and the other Oz games, in a blog I did here: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/preview-aussie-matches-in-round-15/ .

    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

The reserves always do some of the training drills during the week. Glad to see that you got to see a training session JSRF. There is a preview of this match and the other Oz games in a blog I did here: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/preview-aussie-matches-in-round-15/ .

    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

Am also surprised about Douglas, but he trained, full-on, this morning. McKibbin didn't train and Mitchell did little. Crawford is just running up and down as is lock Atkins. Damien Fitzpatrick is training now and doing the work that others are. Hugh Roach is also training with the Tahs...

Waratahs vs Brumbies RD 14 Saturday 18th May

I don't think that the AR got it wrong in law, Nicko; they learn that in Ref 101. He was 2 metres (about) from touch, so as not to impede chaser AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), and I assume that he thought it had passed the plane. I can understand now why AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was screaming like a stuck pig. He probably had a better...

Waratahs vs Brumbies RD 14 Saturday 18th May

Just one little interesting point of law: In the 23rd minute Bernard Foley of the Waratahs restarts after a Brumbies' try; the ball sails toward Brumbies' player Henry Speight, who is standing outside the field of play and attempting to effect a kick directly into touch by catching the ball on...

2013 IRB Junior World Championship - France

Fiji is in the same pool as Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. There are big communities of Fijian, Tongan and Samoan people living in Oz and NZ and quite a few lads play for the U/20 Islander teams. It doesn't matter where they were born. Doing this doesn't disqualify them from being...
