    Western Force 2014

Wow Hawko... If I read your posts, it's hard to see why the Western Force should ever turn up. However, you may have noticed that the WF have the same number of wins as the Tahs The WF is doing OK with at least 6 of our 1st XV injured and the squad still 2-3 players short of a consistently...

I think GG is a waste of space and refuse to go to ESPN for that reason. However, to be fair GG's 15 included all of this squad.

Some interesting observations - for what it's worth....... One disappointing aspect of this Super XV season is the relatively few tries being scored. 6 games left and the Force (23) are only 3 tries less than they scored last season. An average of 2.3 tries per game. Top of the table...

He had his foot in a "moon boot" at the Bulls' game. Can't imagine that he's in SA with the squad as he's still some time away from playing. Maybe against the Lions back in Perth (?)

Just to keep the story going: The Reds have 14 capped Wallabies in its' 35-man squad. The Brumbies have 10 capped Wallabies in its' 35-man squad. The Rebels have only 2 capped Wallabies.

Agree with the REDS and BLUES CTM has certainly lifted his game in the little we've seen of him. We may get to see more over the coming weeks. Ryan Louwrens still shows good potential. Agree with tranquility re Sias (who too has lifted). No matter where the WF finish this year I tip that...

The Waratahs have 16 capped Wallabies in their 35-man squad (The Western Force have 6). All Aussie Super XV players play under a single contract - an ARU contract. In addition to payments under the Salary Cap a large number of Waratah players (and hence the Waratahs as a franchise) get the...

Care to elaborate on these "limitations"? It's to his credit that he didn't fit into the Tahs culture. The Western Force dodged a bullet by not selecting Cheika as he would have brought/developed a completely different culture. Michael Foley has turned a team with few Wallabies into a good...

All I can add re Cheika is that the Western Force dodged a bullet and was lucky enough to win 1st prize :D

The road home - Super rugby 2014

These analyses grossly underestimate the Force's chances over the last 7 games: They only play 1 team in the current top 6. Brumbies 4, Rebs & Tahs 3 and Reds 2. They play 4 teams in the bottom 5 of the table. Tahs & Rebs 3, Reds & Brumbies 2. They play only 2 Aussie teams. Rebs & Reds 4 and...

    Waratahs 2014

Just read the email from the Jason Allen, the Tahs CEO..... Cry me a river MR Allen......!!!!! The Tahs reside in a city of >5 million people and play in Allianz Stadium (SFS) which would be the envy of most major clubs anywhere in the World. Spare some thought for Mark Sinderberry of the...

Playing so poorly???? 16 tackles and 2 turnovers for each of the 1st 2 games. Only people in the East Coast were calling for his head. The Wallabies need a No 7 not another Centre. Currently Hooper is playing as a 7 in Jersey number only. He's lowered his colours to Hodgson in both Tahs...

Can we accept the fact that there was only one open OSF playing in the Force vs Tahs game and it was Matt Hodgson who gave Hooper an absolute bath. Hodgson 17 tackles and 3 turn overs vs Hooper's 5 tackles and ZERO turno-overs. Not bad for a 32yo who carries the extra burden of being...

Now what was that ARU payment made up front for the Tahs to even get Israel in the first place? Grow up people.......this level of support comes with strings attached! ALL Australian Super XV players are paid by the ARU. The ARU have an investment in Israel and they want to make sure that...

Have to love 4-in-a-row with the 2nd ever win at Suncorp against the Reds. Creating a good buffer btwn the Force and Reds and a chasm over the Rebels. GO YOU GOOD THINGS!!!!!!

    Western Force 2014

Fantastic to see the full 80 minutes, full team effort by the Force against the Rebels. The skills shown from the get-go were the same as on display in the trial games - especially against the Pampas XV. This was more than a squad trying to get a win for their captain it was proving that the...

    Rebels 2014

The Rebels clearly underestimated the Western Force. The word from Melbourne is that Higgers was trash-talking the Force all week. Great way to build-up any cockyness..... McGahan obviously was of the view that having some of his good players coming off the bench would cover all...

Where else do you think the Force will go? Champagne tastes on a beer budget...... Local talent development will take even longer...but improving with the new competitions.
