Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

That's one of the reasons the Bulldogs no doubt had second thoughts, third party issues aside. Huge money for another big prop when rule changes made use of them limited? If a rugby team could get him for the right money, then he's definitely worth a shot. Just think that $700k a year will...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I'll believe it when I see it. Fifita reportedly had $700k / year offer on the table from the Sharks. If that still stands, I just don't see how rugby could afford to come close, even with an ARU top up.

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

    Unless the Italians are playing!

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Only issue with holding the ball in scrums is teams that do it for a fourth, fifth, sixth shove and so on. They hold it in there so long that a collapse is inevitable. Then they get a scrum reset and try again. The Italians come to mind when thinking of this tactic. Refs need to call use it...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

I did find this article though, on the entire Sharks team being suspended last year: http://www.thecivilian.co.nz/the-sharks-suspended-over-muriwai-beach-attack-2/

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

All I could find was a Georgina Robinson article saying that Horne was suspended. http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/horne-banned-for-a-week-as-folau-and-beale-under-injury-cloud-20140331-zqotd.html Couldn't find anything on Steyn.

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

@Braveheart81 everytime I see it again, it looks like an intentional body slam after a pass. The key is that Steyn could've easily have pulled out. I now think it definitely should've been a yellow. The two biggest errors I think the ref made was not giving both Horne and Steyn a yellow. I...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

I can't find any press releases about them yet, I doubt that the actual hearings have occurred? Here's the press releases for the citings: http://www.superxv.com/42017/1/waratahs-back-horne-cited-for-alleged-punch#.UzjdTYWyFnU...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

Collar slings are, by the rule book, high tackles, but they are very inconsistently ruled on. Steyn's late tackle wasn't a collar sling, though. Beale was slung by the back of the jersey. Anyone know what the rulings on Steyn and Horne are occurring?

    Stormers v Tahs, round 8 2014

I'm more impressed that somehow WJ got every use of they're/their/there incorrect!

    It wasn't an SA ref.

    Stormers v Tahs, round 8 2014

The Stormers are devastated by injuries, and they picked up a few more vs the Reds. If the Tahs score more than 20 points, any way possible, they have probably won as the Stormers haven't score more than 20 all year. The one time they got 20 is when Aplon sparked some nice tries; and he'll be...

    Reds v Force Rd 8 2014

Wish the Reds had kept Morahan, he'd be great to have at fullback for us right now. He's going pretty well over at the Force.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

He's big, quick, and tough, with good ball skills. He may or may not make it. It's often hard to tell with league props, as the bigger ones these days can get away with surprisingly few minutes per game, and they spend a lot of time with hands on hips when their team is on attack. And I am...

    Reds v Stormers Rd 7 2014

Force will most likely be favourites next week.

    Reds 2014

Quirk had an average game defensively last game, fell off a few tackles he should have stuck. It maybe time to get some rotation for Schatz and Quirk, those guys have been working overtime since the start of last season.

Lions vs Reds Rd 6 2014

Interesting, it appears that the original press release has been modified to just say the other four have no scheduled main ref appointments. Here's a link as to how it originally went: http://www.ultimaterugby.com/news/super-rugby-referees-stood-down-by-sanzar/129608 Then follow the link and...

Lions vs Reds Rd 6 2014

SANZAR made it clear he was stood down for a few weeks as ref, but as you said @Scoey, it was a bit of a non-announcement as he wasn't scheduled anyway.

    Reds v Stormers Rd 7 2014

Oh, and Simmons might have a huge wingspan too. Who knows. Regarding Genia, way too many kicks. Thought his running game was better (largely thanks to static Stormers defence) and he found his forward runners better, allowing the Reds to get a roll on more often, but gees he kicks way too...

    Reds v Stormers Rd 7 2014

Simmons is nice and straight and stiff. The Stormers player has overextended reaching for the ball, causing him to lose balance and lose the support from his lifters. The modern lift - front on the thighs, back underneath the buttocks - only offers support while the jumper is nice and straight...
