Better not let a Leinster fan see you said that - they might not agree.....

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Anyone who has Foxtel Play and tries to watch sport on Saturday know how much in denial Foxtel are. Every Saturday night Foxtel Play drops out due to the high demand, and people go on Facebook to complain. Generally, the first response is always they've had no other complaints, go troubleshoot...

    Waratahs 2014

Nope, Douglas played a bit on the EOYT from recollection. Simmons was suspended for a bit, and on the flank. Checking match stats: Douglas played off the bench against England and Wales, and got game time in both. Let's be honest, though, Douglas was pretty bad to absolutely shocking last...

http://www.sanzarrugby.com/superrugby/news/brayden-mitchell-suspended-for-three-weeks/ Mitchell from the Clan also had it added. Incidentally, they should just add two weeks to the bases of the penalties instead of adding a deterrent.

BTW, McCalman only got two weeks for this: I think that's wrong, to me that was worse than Slipper's. As I said on the other thread, I think that McCalman can count himself as very, very lucky.

    Reds v Crusaders

I agree with that. McCalman's tackle to me was much more dangerous and he got less. For some reason, the deterrent wasn't added. http://www.sanzarrugby.com/superrugby/news/ben-mccalman-suspended-for-two-weeks/ I think that Ben McCalman can count himself very, very lucky.

    Blues v Reds

Yeah, I was never saying it didn't deserve a suspension, just the lower end of suspensions. The lowest end starts at four weeks, which was higher than I thought, not not by much. In the end, two to three weeks for that tackle seems fair enough to me for someone without priors.

Was a sneaky swipe at the amount of Kiwis who still claim that Umaga shouldn't have been suspended; fair enough for Dan54 to call me on it ;) I think that if a similar tackle occurred now, it would be a couple months on the sidelines for the culprit.

Even if Graham fails badly for the rest of the year, I won't be surprised if he's still there in 2015, for various reasons. Throughout his tenure at the Force and Reds he's always he excuses, and there's the rumours of the way he was hired at the Reds that hint he won't be flicked so quickly.

    Reds v Crusaders

I reckon the Reds will be up for this at home and put in a huge effort we will all be proud of. The Reds will only lose by 27.

Comparing how bad tackles are in terms of severity. The angle of the back is what's important. A flat back (the angle of back parallel to the ground) means minimal risk to the neck. I thought that Slipper's tackle the back was basically parallel to the ground, so it's at the very bottom of...

    Blues v Reds

Incorrect. The angle is the most important thing when considering a tip tackle. As the guy's back was practically flat when he hit the ground, the tackle is either at the lowest end of the tip tackle range, or Slipper will be suspended for lifting and not putting down gently. A driving...

You are fogetting the S&C aspect. Reds have lost some very, very good fitness coaches in recent years, particularly after 2011. There's a reason they look unfit this season, I think.

    Reds 2014

Wayne Smith also had the following paragraph at the end, after the paragraph about Graham: If the shortcomings were known in 2013, and Graham was in charge of recruitment from 2013, then he can still share blame for not looking at getting it fixed. If, for instance, a bruising backrower is...

    Reds 2015

If some of those key players are upset as rumours say and Graham is still coach next year, we may lose some for 2015. Losing, say, three of of QC (Quade Cooper) / CFS / Taps / Shipperley / Harris would be bad, particularly if one is QC (Quade Cooper). A weakened roster and Graham still coach? I am a bit scared for 2015...

    Blues v Reds

Slipper's tip tackle would have to be the very lowest end of the scale - if his torso was beyond the horizontal it would've been by a couple of degrees, if even that. That said, I expect a solid ban, knowing how random the SANZAR judiciary is. If the Reds hire a good QC (Quade Cooper), and review previous...

    Blues v Reds

Really? Practically the same Reds pack out performed a lot of higher rated packs, including while Samo was injured and Higgers lambasted by most as a seagull. Exactly the same pack last year took them to the finals - Samo bare played, mostly the odd game off the bench. Quirk and Schatz...

    Reds 2014

Impressive turnaround from Graham: 2010 - 2nd Australian team, 5th overall 2011 - 1st Australian team, 1st overall 2012 - 1st Australian team, 3rd overall (thanks to conference system, really 6th), eliminated first week of finals 2013 - 2nd Australian team, 5th overall, eliminated first week of...
