Australia A - Back on the Cards

Sapsford has Australian parentage and Aus A is a capture team so he absolutely is eligible and now (relatively) locked in. The only question was around potential 7s appearances for NZ previously but they must not have been considered full cap games given it was a warm up tournament.

    Queensland Reds 2024

A big body for the second row has to be the absolute focus now, if it wasn't already.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

August 28th, as a double head with a Wallabies vs France game in Paris. We could definitely use a game or 3 in the meantime. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/plans-for-wallabies-shadow-squad-to-play-portugal-in-paris-double-header-20230629-p5dkgx.html

Australia A - Back on the Cards

They're saying a squad of 15 Australians for those Barbarians sides, augmented mostly with Japanese players I think. They're also trying to setup an Aus A v Portugal game as a world cup warm up, but it's yet to be confirmed.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I didn't think he should be starting above Hanigan and Wilson to start, I'm even more sure of it now. With Gleeson returning from injury and Leota in need of game time is there really room to carry him?

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Thought Fines-Leleiwasa, Wilson and the wind really turned that game around at half time, pulled a lot of players along with them. Makes the game a pretty good example of why Gordon is not in the Wallaby squad too - as well as he may play in super, he appears to be lacking that next gear he...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

He had, but that should be the end of his rep season. No way we can risk him at the world cup, better to put the Aus A time into other players.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

    I'd go 10 O'Connor, 12 Sapsford, 13 Flook

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

Will probably depend on game position a bit - I'm sure Eddie will be tempted to give Kemeny a run on the wing, but only if the game is well in hand. Otherwise expect him to come in for McReight, but as Highlander said it might only be the last 10 minutes or so.

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

As effectively unlikely - Wilson and McReight have already played more rugby together than most 7/8 pairings will in their career, but even 50% of that at it's peak will be good. He has a great connection with McDermott too, so there could be some fireworks if they're on the field together in...

    Wallabies 2023

So we could add a red to the two yellows?

    Western Force 2024

I haven't seen too much of them recently but have heard Tomane was going well. Only problem is Cron spoke a lot about not wanting to sign players too late in their career for 1-2 seasons, signing those two would look like a failure in that.

    Western Force 2024

Lots of departures for the Force. From the 2023 thread/the Force's social media: Ryan McCauley, Jake Strachan, Grayson Makara, Reece Tapine, Rupeni Mataele, Gareth Simpson, Bryce Hegarty, Manasa Mataele, Folau Fainga'a, Zach Kibirge and Will Sankey all gone Close to the entirety of the...

    Force 2023

Loosing both Mataele's, Kibirige, Tapine, Hegarty, Strachan, Makara in one go is not exactly ideal. They weren't all up to this level but that's almost every outside back from this years squad. With Pulu and Ala still unsigned for next year Tiatia could end up being the only one to carry over.

    RWC jerseys

That is truly horrendous, no Australian side should ever play in a jersey like that
