I'd like to see Simmons starting for the combination with Horwill in the first test. After watching the Reds game again I think he really brought the whole package to the table. Called the line outs very well as he generally does, scrummaged well, was very good in the breakdowns and laid some...

I'm out here right now and have spent most of the last few days at Churchie actually.

Good point. I've never personally worn one so no clue how it feels.

ACT Crusader Frankly, based on all the private lunches and paddle boarding sessions along with Georgina Robinson's new bit I would be shocked if Kurtley isn't in the side. She has a knack for knowing what the ARU is thinking.. Regardless it's a wildly disgusting insult to every single...

qwerty51 actually is right here, Cooper is the only test level player that is definitely or at least could be reasonably assumed to not be playing.

Can anyone tell me why Tipuric and Davies weren't wearing scrum caps? I barely recognized them at first. Is it a Lions thing? Nobody was wearing one.

Gnostic No reasonable game plan should rely on individual brilliance to win. The first thing juniors are taught is the 15-as-1 mentality, because that is how rugby works. Deans is grasping at the X-factor bullshit because he has lost his confidence as a coach and knows his career in Australian...

So you're selecting the final 6 now? That level of insight must be nice. Phipps and Macalman were just brought in. Anything is possible at this point. Except for QC (Quade Cooper) getting selected!

I meant it is ironic because many punters seem to think the Lions is a bridge too far for new players, but teams which regularly beat the Lions are a good place to do it. Not to mention history as well..2001 wasn't that long ago..

Yeah but tries practically don't count if you "tire" your piggies while doing it!! I think I've hit my sarcasm quote for the week.

What's most hilarious to me about To'omua not even getting a look in is - based on form this year - he is a lower-risk option at 10 and he plays an arguably lower-risk style than any Aussie 10. Don't want to hear it about his lack of test experience. JOC (James O'Connor) has had 1 test at 10. I don't care how...

Waratahs Crusaders Friday 31st May 5:40pm AEST

Little late to the party but I felt at the time (and still do) that subbing Lucas and Barnes on was a mistake. McKibbin was actually playing and kicking well and Horne getting over the line regularly is quite important to their pattern. Their momentum died quickly after the substitutions...

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

If a scum half who can't pass was running his mouth for an entire match when his team hardly looked like scoring outside of a few short intervals I might give him a cheeky smack as well

Quade plays a risky style and has been under a microscope since mid-late 2010. It's been covered on here but the amount of coverage his mistakes get and the level of scrutiny he is regularly under when compared to other players borders on hyperbole.

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

Phipps was running his mouth literally the entire game to the Reds. It was so fucking loud I could hear him from a few rows in. 100% deserved it. lewisr DC only got charged down once v Chiefs, the other was either Crotty or Taylor. All about the same height with the same haircut/color...

He was so deep I'm actually doubly worried about Roberts now because he was still getting over the line. One hell of a player.

He's played at 12 for club and from what I remember hearing it didn't go spectacularly well and he said he didn't like it too much either. If he'd get shifted out to any position it would be wing.

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

You've got me on the age. Except 15 is far more similar to 14 than 12 is, and his test stats on the wing are infinitely more impressive than at 15.

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

He was 17 and 18 when he was lighting the world on fire at wing! Not saying he's a bad 12 but he has already proven he is one of the finest finishers on Earth when wearing 14.

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

O'Connor was really never that impressive at 12. Good at times, yes. But never near as good as he is and has always been when on the wing.
