Mate,if Horwitz is the answer, you are asking the wrong question. He is average 10 at SS level, and no standout at 12. This is his 4th pre season with the Tahs,They have improved him in contact, but nowhere else. Time to move on.

John Mitchell Hired as USA Rugby Men's Eagles Head Coach

What am I missing? I think he has a great football brain. He is replacing a well meaning amateur. I reckon he can make huge improvements with this side.

Haven't they sent a "B" team the last few times?

Gave it away after copping too many head knocks. I think you're a bit harsh,I thought the wraps on him as a Schoolboy were warranted.

i don't think it matters. Foley is still there to scoot when it's on,and Beale is still there to slip into first receiver when it's on. Horne & IF are still there to run lines. Numbers on their backs don't mean much if they are not playing the traditional roles.

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 2 - CAPE TOWN

The problem at CPT was not the forwards,IMO Killingworth was our best, and again possession was not the issue, it's what we don't do with it so we keep it. The reason why we performed well early last season was due to our dull style of play minimising errors. After a few rounds we were quickly...

So a forwards captain/coach with a poorly performed head coach? As much as a fan of Thorn as I am. That's not good news.

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 2 - CAPE TOWN

Yep, they are playing not to lose, rather than playing to win. I hate that. Never seen a team in any grade of any sport win a comp like that. And we will not be the first. Coach them to back their skills. We will win more games, but lose some games by bigger margins. I'd be happy with that.

9 is the best place to hide! Apparently that's where he played when he last played Rugby. Maybe a continuation of Cheika's quirky recruitment decisions?

I agree with KB (Kurtley Beale) @ 12,I'm yet to be convinced that IF @ 13 strengthens the side, He is world class 15, both Horne & Carraro are strong at 13. Robinson has yet to demonstrate he is worthy of a spot in match day squad, let alone starting at 15, No doubt time will tell.

It's a bit scary that the club with the biggest gate, and strong sponsorship can lose $103k. Obviously success is not solely judged on the bottom line, but it demonstrates how finely balanced many of the clubs must be.

Yeah,it's puzzling that people can suggest IF "held back" info on his condition. He was rested for a game, and it was on the news when he was lightly training. The coaches knew the status, and decided a less fit IF was their best option.

The good news is that based on that,he is unlikely to get done for assault if he plays up........ He doesn't throw many!

Maybe the Tahs should sign this dude in some capacity to keep Zac on the straight & narrow......

They aren't going to build a season around him, just get him as mid season cover in the event the youngsters fail. I'm much more bullish on Greene's prospects than I am with Jake M. But both have big question marks over them,so it can't hurt to get someone/anyone as a back up.

    Ideas for NRC

I'm not so sure, I'd prefer to run the same teams for one more year before tweaking things. The Currie Cup supports your preference to reduce the number of teams. Not so much the ITM. An ITM 2nd div team will play v 6 2nd div teams & 4 div 1 teams in a season. The kiwis obviously think a 7 team...
