    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Argie lineout drive near NSW line. 58-12. NSW players didn't know what to do.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Latu on - was surprised Carraro was playing - didn't know he was called into the team. Jed Holloway over - good series of phases for NSW - looked like a real team. Arg 53-12 Good play from Horwitz and Latu on inside run (forward pass, but who cares?).
  3. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Most of the NSW amateurs are on. Difference in class is stark even though Arg have theirs on too. Argie in again 53-5 with kick to come.
  4. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Scrum put-ins are now straighter than lineout throws. Camacho in - too easy, missed tackles. 47-5
  5. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Big Willie playing a stiff game. Now NSW have a scrum close to the goal-line - unfortunately it's theirs - get ball going backwards.
  6. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

McDougall looking handy - good club form showing at this level. Hooker Straker on. NSW scrum mullered again. Ball being feed straighter - as per theory - so far.
  7. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Argies over 39-5 - too good - watched carefully by NSW forwards.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Better contest for Argies 2H. You're right - he's back - pity I wanted to see more of Falelai'i. Argies held up from lineout in again in only chance of 2nd half. Argie scrum - here comes the scary part.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

NSW 5 M scrum shaky but get ball. Scrum Argies - better NSW scrum - Arg break out but JMH too fancy and play breaks down. Looks like a brand new NSW team in first 15 mins of 2nd half instead of just a few changes.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

NSW playing better - still absent from rucks to protect their ball, but better. Horwitz looking streets better than Volvo was … so far. NSW get near Argie line and play pick and go - get PK but not game to take scrum - take lineout - get over but held up?? Yes.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

18 y.o.Horwitz on - scores. Is that Lolohea I see - must be - he took up a lot of the screen. Horowitz misses wide conversion - one of his weaknesses - not a great goal kicker.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Argie line speed good; combining well except near end of first half. They would like to have better oppositon though. Three tries were started from kick throughs after NSW had ball - if memory serves. Looking forward to seeing LHP David Lolohea if he gets on - he was good scrumming for W...

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Gray looking reasonable.McCutcheon trying hard. Volovola poor but forwards not up to scratch. Half-time 32-0 and Argies worth every point.
  14. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Arg in again - too easy - 32-0 nearly a point a minute.
  15. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Argie in again 25-0. Lucas hooked already - poor - the new guy Faleali'i looks handy.
  16. Lee Grant

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

Boy - this is like men against boys 20-0

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

PS - In the late 1960s the Pumas started using their bajada scrum and pushing opponents off the ball. See the article about it written by our Bruce Ross, here: http://www.gen3kinematics.com/p_jun_06.php .

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

That's right - there used to be a hooking contest for the ball and it was not uncommon to see 3-4 genuine tight heads by an elite hooker in a game. In the old days these guys were the rock stars of the forwards. Of course they could only do this if the ball was put-in straight, and it was...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

I said "could be"; it suffices to say they are all under an injury cloud and some are out for the season.. I forgot to include Wrench. .
