The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

Only partially true. Rugby has always cut accross the "class" system (a complicated concept in SA) in South Africa. Played in private schools and public schools in every country town. Club teams would often have doctors running next to carpenters. For example kids in Pretoria who lived on...

    Western Force 2014

The little bit I read I see he coached the Uni of Cape Town to a Varsity Cup win. UCT is traditionally not the strongest rugby Uni. Their biggest rival is Stellenbosch, where Foote comes from. Stellenbosch is seen by many as the real "home" of rugby in SA which I find hard to admit as someone...

Liking the look of that mob. Best looking roster ever for the West.

Other than Brown I would call that a pretty good gone list. Sam Christie (EPS) James Hilterbrand (EPS) Ben Jacobs Sam Norton-Knight Toby Lynn Salesi Ma'afu Lachlan McCaffrey Will Tupou Brett Sheehan Ben Whittaker Richard Brown

    Western Force 2014

    22. Willhelm Steenkamp 2016 Marquee Player Spot That is a really good signing. Versatile lock who can play 4 and 5. Tough but no slouch. Shit I did not know you lot nabbed him. Exactly the type of player the Force needs in the pack. Hell who is left in Pretoria. :(

Is there ANYTHING you don't take personally?

The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

Agree with all the above but this is my personal perspective. I grew up right smack bam in the middle of the bastion of Afrikanerdom. We pretty much got taught that we were right and everyone else was wrong (not just about segregation but just about everything else). The attitude was that if...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

That whole pack was one of the best we have seen in the modern game.

    Arg v SA - 2nd Test 24th Aug

On another note six of the Boks have had to fly to France to play for their clubs this weekend. Then they fly back to SA and get on a plane to Aus right away with almost no prep. This is all going to end in tears. It cannot work.

    Arg v SA - 2nd Test 24th Aug

One of the reasons this weekend was pace. Vermeulen and Alberts can't be in the same back row. They are too slow. The Argies got the the contact zone ahead of them every time. What happened last year? The Wobs and ABs sped the game up and we struggled. Caveman ball loses against pace if...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Wow, You found an unnoticed infringement in a rugby match. Amazing. Who would have thought? Every time the Wobs end up on the wrong side of a ref is a little bit of payback for Lawrence-gate. Karma. She's a real biatch. You're welcome. :p

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Got to watch the game and although the Wobs only have themselves to blame Peyper had a crap game. The ABs should have been carded when they infringed deliberately for the fourth time when the Wobs were attacking in their 22. It seems to obviously premeditated. Once there is a breakdown in the...

    Arg v SA - 2nd Test 24th Aug

Like I said after the June tests this game plan is 100% based on forward dominance. If we don't achive forward dominance there just is no other plan. I expect AB's and Wobs will match us in the pack and beat us. We might scrape by at home. Maybe. I have predicted a dismal RC this year and...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Fix the basics. Too much of the bread and butter stuff is broken. Ref, Black players cheating, etc. Yes but that's jsut blah blah blah. Too much poor rugby too often to beat the AB's. I suspect it will look better against the Boks but the ABs expose weaknesses in a horribly obvious way.

Drop the idea of Coenie at TH and play Adriaanse who is a real TH ffs. Good to see consistency though. That will help.

Springboks vs Argentina - 1st Test TRC 2013

Complete surprise to see how easily the Boks pack man handled to Argies. Loving this Bok back row. Three absolute mongrels. Fourie DuP. There still is not halfback in world rugby that clears the ruck as quick as this guy. Sublime. Pienaar had a great game. This could be excellent for us...
