    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

There is no doubt that the support for grass roots rugby isn't there. After school they would have to play super rugby to get a crowd that surpasses a 1st XV crowd. There is drop off for a number of reasons, but that is to be expected. Work, uni, social life (girls and booze), self motivation...

    Shameless journalism: Folau

The thing is that the Reds made sure they had plenty on him everytime he got the ball. Other teams won't do this as they wont rate the threat and if they do the Tah's should now be open to the opportunities that present when a player draws 3 defenders.

1st XV's play under U19 laws. It's just most of them have coaches who don't know/follow the laws.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

These days there are more options with 5 Aust teams playing Super rugby. In 1999 we only had 3 teams. Also with Toyota Cup being an option for a professional environment for players to participate in and then return rugby is more of an option. Queensland has for the last 5-10 years developed...

George Smith to sign with Australian Super Rugby team...

Japanese pre-seasons are notorious for being long and arduous. His time would be better spent playing rugby though so I'd love him to see out the Super season in Canberra.

    Reds 2013

I would say the boot is a precaution. Last year Beau lived in one during the week but played most of the games. Although I would guess that they wouldn't want to risk Big Kev as he is pretty important to the team.

George Smith to sign with Australian Super Rugby team...

He'd be a great 8 for the Brumbies with Mowen at 6. The breakdown would be crazy. Or he could be on the bench and cover 6-12.

    Brumbies 2013

I wasn't a big fan of Mogg but the last 2 games have made me change my mind. He reminds me a bit of Chris Latham in his early seasons with the Reds. He has a monster boot and is really quick. I think the extra size he's put on has given him a bit more confidence.

Yes Sunnybank claim Ben Tapuai as he was a registered Sunnybank player when he won his first test cap. It's not about how many games you play for a club it is all to do with who you are registered with when you are selected to play for the country. Fletcher Dyson is on the honour board as Uni...

Dan McKeller is back from the capital and it coaching at the nest again from what I hear. While his title is assistant coach to Kefu it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

    Rebels 2013

He played 10 at school and 12 in colts. May have played 10 for Qld U19 in 2007 too. After his time in the Aust 7's team he was seen as a 9. Plays 15 for Sunnybank when he comes back to club rugby. I think he could cover 10 and could potentially be a good Super player there.

Cotterall is probably a couple of years off SouthernX. He's a talent but will need some time on the park for the Force to show his ability and he seems to be behind a few in the pecking order there at there at the moment. I doubt Easts will put Mowen down as he wouldn't be registered with them...

Choose 4 clubs would you include in a national comp

Your 4 clubs should be based of performance, facilities and club finances. On field performance would have to be the main factor. So top 4 teams in the respective comps. Facilities would be considered but games could be moved to other venues if required Finances would have to be in order. There...

Ben Mowen plays for Tuggeranong so if he does get a cap you can't really claim him.

Willie Tuli form Sunnybank Prems/1st Grade has also gone to Easts. They are going to have a log jam of props this year. Hopefully they can keep them all happy as they might loose a few at the end of the year if that isn't the case. I guess this is where the great Tigers culture kicks in?

I'm still not taken with Bermingham. I guess he is another one who is quite young though so has plenty of time to develop.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Maile went away with the 20's and came back and played Premier. He was the hooker in the GF for Sunnybank. Last Friday he played for WA Gold v Rebel Rising as a one off appearance as the Force are short of hookers at the moment. He was only 18 last year and it's a hard ask for someone that young...

Both Wakely and Fidow play LHP but if you ask them they will tell you they are Hookers. I think that's the point that Cat_A is making. Also from my experience you need 2 good frontrows to be competitive at Premier level. If you bring on a weaker prop the opposition will take advantage so it's...

    Brumbies 2013

Interesting listening to Fisher on the podslam about what he see the roles of 6 and 8 being. In the Fisher model Mowen suits 8 but we are all used to *'s being the ball runner and 6 as the work horse. I think Fotu starting will give the Brumbies mush more go forward and free up the backline to...
