It wouldn't.it was in response the previous posters premise that any funding at all by the ARU to SS clubs was contrary to the best practice in the development of pro players in Australia.

That's my point, the ARU system of picking winners at an early age doesn't work without the SS. They have both been in the payroll since School & without the SS they would have been limited to opposed sessions with the Tahs,hardly ideal. Funny you mention the NRC,the comp BP begged the SS clubs...

I think the sequence of events,was that the ARU committed to pay $300k to ensure it was telecast,then Club tv stepped in,and the $300k was no longer required.

I think the plan is to pick superstars at 14,and focus on them through various koala clubs until they are ready to be paid at 19 or 20.

Yeah it's on par cos the guys at the coal face know where the price point is,and fundraise harder and spend less on the kids involved,to keep fees competitive. BP levying the efforts of volunteers and their kids is just a crap idea.
