    Wallabies 2021

Incidentally, this is what Jim Tucker had to say about Irae Simone after the Crusaders match : "3. WALLABY AUDITIONS Centre Irae Simone was lukewarm in his two Tests last season so it was important to see him step up in a big contest. He did just that with some classy passing, some neat...

    Wallabies 2021

For the record, I have for most of the year called for the 10, 12, 13 axis to be JOC (James O'Connor), Paisami, Ikitau (or Kuridrani). I am still of that view now. Let's see what the rest of the TT brings in the way of form.

Absolute bullshit RR. Man up and take responsibility for your own over the top comments and please leave me out of it.

    Wallabies 2021

Correct me if I'm wrong RR, but don't all contracted SRAu players also sign a contract with RA? If so, are you saying that every one of our Super Rugby contracted players will be in the 23 for the first test?

Just as I thought. FP apparently trying to get some outrage on the thread.

TT Rd 2 - Chiefs v Brumbies, Sat 22nd May, 5.05pm AEST, FMG Waikato

Anyone else think Luke Reimer has looked as good or better than Rory Scott in his time on the ground the last couple of weeks? I know he is coming on late in the game and for few minutes but he has done some very good things, including putting pressure on opposition ball at the ruck, and his...

I recall there were two players at the Tahs named Angus Bell. Which one is this?

    Wallabies 2021

I do like the look of Neville and Philip in the second row, but on what local form does Matt get a guernsey? JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 when he hasn't been regularly playing there to assess his form? Allan Ala'alatoa and Fotuaika surely swap sides? How does Pete Samu get a spot on current form when he's...

    Wallabies 2021

Why? MT completely out of form, and maybe on the slide downhill, and has not played 12 all year. I do not agree that he "needs to be in the 23" let alone a Wallaby starter.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I reckon I could support that concept. ATM it is feasible that NZ teams could fill the top 3 or 4 spots on the ladder each and every year the present system operates. I wonder how many of the supporters of TT only, or casual viewers, will stay engaged when that happens? Another thought. There...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You've got it arse-about imo RN. The domestic season should be the main game in town and probably go two home away rounds with 6 or 7 teams. The TT should be a hit and giggle add-on at the end.

I agree with your view of Leota, but he's also going o/s I believe. The next best, and imo very good No 6 is Fergus Lee-Warner. I would not be at all disappointed in seeing him in the Wallaby squad, and probably on the bench for some tests as well.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That style of comp might sell internationally WOB, at least for a little while, but it will again see the fans leaving rugby in this country in droves.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Thanks RN, but I am still not a fan. Treat the TT as Wallaby selection guide only. Won't need open borders despite the results.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Don't think it should be binned D. I am not as invested in it as I am with SRAu, but I think it has a place. To me, the SRAu is about the Australian Championship, and is the most important competition for our sides. The TT looks to me to be developing as the Wallaby trials. Those two roles...

    SRT-T R1: Crusaders v Brumbies

Right now I would rate Connal as being a better all round player than Lonergan, but LL has far more potential I think to reach the top of his trade. It will also be interesting to keep an eye on Pollard's development in the next couple of years. Viewers who watched the Scoolboys/U18s a couple of...

    Trans-Tasman Super Rugby 2021

Surprisingly to me at least, I find after one round of TT that I am not really invested in the win/loss so much as a good competitive game. Usually a 2 point loss with a missed conversion on the bell would shit me to tears, but I have to say I am more than happy to see the Brumbies go toe to toe...

    SRT-T R1: Crusaders v Brumbies

A couple more observations on Brumbies performances in the game. Valetini continues his MOTM level performances; getting over FF (Folau Fainga'a), runs straight at defenders and doesn't win the contest, some poor tackling issues, not consistent with his throws; Tom Wright is an RPG - the way a few of the Reds...

Melbourne Rebels vs Auckland Blues, May 15, 2021

Should have been WOB. 17 -10 would have still had the Rebels in the game.
