    Wallabies 2021

The problem with all the hookers is consistency - particularly in their throwing. And it doesn’t help BPA is leaving. I had him as my clear starting 2, but he missed a couple of key throws on Friday. The fact he is going and is unlikely to be a priority OS player to bring back means it...

    Wallabies 2021

Agree. And form in TT has to be worth double form in Super AU and they have been even more impressive there, which is quite a feat.

Super Rugby T-T R4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes

I understand your point BR and largely agree. At the same time I am prepared to play devils advocate. There are several issues with the ref pulling up every technical break down penalty - - players do modify their behaviour, but modern coaching is all about exploiting or bending the rules. So...

Super Rugby T-T R4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes

Woooohooooo - nice work Brumbies. Enjoy that boys - that was a terrific effort. Very physical game - great to see them get home.

Super Rugby T-T R4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes

Brumbies hitting hard in defence. Making ground without the ball. And then undo their great work with a penalty.

    Nice start by the Brumbies.

I have to say I agree. I was reluctant at first but I think he is mixing up his game very well and showing a strong game all round.

Super Rugby R4 Reds v Blues

I’m all for player safety - but that’s a very harsh penalty

R3 Reds v Chiefs, turmoil in Townsville?

Yeah - but reading Thorn’s comments he doesn’t sound unhappy with him. Just challenging him to improve a couple of things. Thorn seems to trade heavily in building depth in the squad and backing guys in the wider squad, or at least being prepared to give them opportunities. It seems he’s handed...

R3 Reds v Chiefs, turmoil in Townsville?

I’m sorry, albeit a bit confused, you’ve found my post so offensive. I do think you have perhaps missed the context though. I was responding to the query from Hawko as to the reason the Reds leaked points in the last 25 minutes. I think Thorn is great. What in my post made you think I expect him...

Phone Gillmeister. It worked for Renouf.

    Wallabies 2021

I don’t really know how all the other players feel about Rodda. But my experience has been that generally blokes will harbour a grudge, right up to the point where they all end up in a room or on a training paddock together. A couple of apologies/acknowledgements may or may not be exchanged and...

    Wallabies 2021

Maybe - and it’s a fair point. But I doubt many of the players are really going to hold onto much animosity about it.

    Reds 2022

Interested in their view on his development Reg. Clearly he is highly rated, but he does seem to have been thrown into Super Rugby early and I don’t know he is ready. Did Heenan think he should be playing Prem’s at the moment or do they think he will click soon enough?

    Wallabies 2021

I’d have Swain in front of Frost. Frost is a good prospect but I think Swain is further advanced. If Frost keeps improving, his time will come. Whilst Rodda’s departure from the Reds might have put a few people off him before he left he was our best performed test lock for the previous 2 yrs...

    Wallabies 2021

Sio just isn’t the same player he was, unfortunately. To be honest I think Ala'alatoa is struggling at scrum time a bit too. I think some of that probably comes down to how the Brumbies pack as a whole is going, so happy to give him the benefit of doubt, but I don’t think he’s scrummaged as well...

    Wallabies 2021

The more I watch Wells the more I like him. Good all-round game, good work rate, great line out option and makes some very good reads in defence.

    Wallabies 2021

I would probably have Robertson at 1, but if not at least at 17. Love McReight, but with Hooper in 7 I’d prefer a bigger back rower on the bench. Michael Wells would be my preferred at this stage. Of course neither Robertson nor Wells were in the earlier squad. I know that is not the be—all...

R3 Reds v Chiefs, turmoil in Townsville?

And, as has been already mentioned numerous times, I do think there was a notable difference in bench quality. The Chiefs bench came on and really raised the intensity. But at least 4 of the Reds bench (Nasser, Nonggorr, Thomas and Droasese) were notable steps down. Zander is an good, honest...
