You may be down with it, but I am pretty sure the Tartan Mafia are not going to bend over for anyone. Good to see 5 kiwi teams going nuts. Bodes well for the 3N, Bled and England.

The median house price in Dunedin is $255 500. we are a mid decile school so lots of boys from low income families. Lots of cheese roll making and quiz nights to save up. Not like other schools in our region where daddy just writes a cheque. The trip certainly opened a few boy's eyes.

Well the boys are back and had a ball. Beat Trinity 63-7 Beat Melbourne Grammar 50-15 Beat St Pats 71-12 Oddly enough the boys rated the St Pats game as the hardest opposition. By the time they played St Pats they had played 2 games together and were starting to string phases together (this is...

Oh dear Slipper. Lifting a player past the horizontal and driving him into the ground. Very lucky to get off with a yellow. I can see a bit of time in the stands coming his way.

You could hardly say Fekitoa slipped through the system. The Blues had him last year and chose not to play him. I see he has had a bit to say about Sir JK. https://nz.sports.yahoo.com/rugby/news/article/-/22767324/super-rugby-fekitoa-says-blues-didnt-give-him-a-fair-chance/

I think the Highlanders deserved the win, so would not class it as an upset. They are playing an enjoyable style of rugby to watch and having some fun out there. My old man and the father in law, both canterbury supporters, are following the highlanders now. They love their playing style...

Shorks beaten 34-18 at home by the highlanders in a bonus point win. Unwanted JAFFA Fekitoa scoring a brilliant solo try. Shorks wise not kick too much ball to B Smith. Could not defend against a rolling maul. Only points from penalties. Video highlights...

Not quite toe to toe. Our refusal to import players means that we will always struggle to beat Otago Boy's and Southland Boy's. Doesn't happen too often. We usually have to settle for 3rd or 4th. But as i have said, it is not our full 1st Xv squad, but a group including 2nds and u17s

Thanks for that. The boys are hoping to get to see the rebels play the hurricanes, which will be interesting. Last time I took most of the boys away was to an U15 tournament in Southland. We went to an ITM cup game Southland v Taranaki where they loudly cheered on Taranaki, just to annoy the locals.

Sounds good. The boys are being billeted at each of the schools so I am sure there will be plenty of rugby talk. Our school, King's High, came third in the Highlanders 1st XV competition last season, but unfortunately we won't be sending all our 1st XV over, but enough to make up a reasonably...

Cheers. Over the years we have hosted numerous schools doing overseas tours. Some make an effort to play the top teams in each location, some seek out the weakest teams in the area so they can claim to have done a clean sweep of NZ schools (mainly British teams I am afraid). But to be fair, it...

My boy is heading off on a rugby tour to Australia next week, We are sending over a senior team, made up of a mix of 1st XV, 2nd XV and u16 players. To make a change from the Gold Coast, the team is heading to Melbourne. They are playing Trinity Grammar, Melbourne Grammar and St Pats. Not...

The assistant refs were of the same standard as Chris Pillock. Watching replays of the game, after having watched it at the stadium, the televised game did not show the number of times the rebels left overlaps. The Highlanders are one team that are pretty good at launching counterattacks and...

It looked like all he was wanting to do was make sure he dropped his shoulder into the tackler. No attempt to fend and go for the quick pass at all. Good to see some leadership out there...from Brad Thorn. Don't know what it looked like on TV but from the stands it looked like he was doing a...

Highlanders Vs Western Force - Rnd 5 2014

What a disappointment that game was. Giving away some of the softest tries i have ever seen just killed us. The opening round slaughter of the blues really made me think the team of nobodies were going to do much better this year. Was there with the boy in the zoo stand and could not believe...

Oh yes. i am not overly fond of Crockett myself. But as I stated, I think his weak opposition made him look good.
