    Scotland v Australia, Murrayfield, 5am 24 Nov 2013

After watching JOC (James O'Connor) play at 10 in the rounds of Super Rugby leading up to the Lions Tour and thinking he could convert that into a test 10 capable of taking on the British and Irish Lions in 2-3 weeks time was a very, very stupid decision.

It's much easier and less disruptive to drop back for kicks from the wing than it is the midfield. This is a pattern you'll see from just about any international 10.

At least they'll be sending out their 3rd string center pairing as well!

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

So you really think that rucking technique and efficacy has come that car along in the past few years? It's just funny because it actually did usually take multiple forwards to move Pocock once he had wrapped around the player/ball. He is a literal rock there just like G. Smith was. Pocock...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Is I'd reckon it's far better than nothing. You're also not giving Pocock nearly enough credit in terms of his ability to get around the park, he's one of the most fit and mobile players we have when healthy. You're also overlooking the impact that a dominant scavenger can have on a team...

Saraby, none of those vintage Wallabies played anywhere near the amount of top level footy that these guys are asked to slog through year in and year out. The rest wouldn't be for posterity, it would be so we don't run the risk of losing any more players to knee and shoulder recons before the...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Luckily it looks like there will be a full season of Super Rugby in which the strengths and weaknesses of Gill/Hooper/Pocock can be analyzed. Very much looking forward to it but any discussion now is little more than speculation given Gills limited game time and Pococks complete lack of it.

Quade telling it how it is

Ruggo nailed it. The vitriol slung at Quade both on here and in the press was disappointing not because of the content but the ignorance involved in producing that content to begin with. After the less than stellar start to his career and 'that' incident on TV it was very, very obvious that he...

England v All Blacks, Twickers, 17 November 2013

Haven't caught the match yet but did just watch the Kapa O Pango on Youtube and I have to say Messam had chills going up my spine by the middle of it, awesome stuff.

    Ireland v Australia, Dublin, 16 Nov 2013

Looks like he have Sexton a nice rib tickler when he was holding him back as well. Forwards need to start turning the corner and hitting the ruck square with their shoulders. The coming in at angles and flopping around does NOTHING but remove players from our defensive line.

    Waratahs 2014

First drill is a pretty common warm up (at least here, there's a lot of wrestling influence on rugby in the northeast USA) to activate the core stabilizers and get some blood/adrenaline flowing. It's good practice for keeping your feet/balance in contact and adjusting to the tackler in that...

    The Gagr Podcast

Should be pretty easy to just adjust the volume on the opening segment. It's caught me off guards with the headphones in a few times! Shows are still very good and it's still the only thing that can get me to do dishes and not hate every minute of it so thanks for that you guys.

    Wouldn't that be something?

    USA and Canadian Rugby

I'd be happy to see either Zach or Maximo given starting time at 10, especially for what is essentially an exhibition game like this one. There's been too much faith put in the same players who have consistently let the team down, kind've like the situation in Australia it would seem!

    USA and Canadian Rugby

I'm really, really disappointed by 9. Petri and 10. L'Estrange when we have Davies on the bench and Maximo D'Achaval in the wilderness. Almost like Tolkin coached both of them before or something. Toby L'Estrange was a flyhalf for Syndney Uni before he came to the USA.

    Reds 2014

Awesome. I think that a healthy and mentally sound Tapuai is really, really vital to the Reds back line functioning to its full potential.

    All Blacks vs France

Have never heard or read anything to indicate that type of behavior. He's been the form fly half in Top 14 for a bit now (at least in my eyes) and has more or less carried Montpellier through some of their games this season. He's had streaky international form in the past but who wouldn't with...

    All Blacks vs France

I would love to get my hands on whatever drugs the French selectors are smoking, team announced: 15 Brice Dulin, 14 Yoann Huget, 13 Florian Fritz, 12 Wesley Fofana, 11 Maxime Médard, 10 Remi Tales, 9 Morgan Parra, 8 Damian Chouly, 7 Wenceslas Lauret, 6 Thierry Dusautoir (capt), 5 Yoann...
