Whilst he didn't shine on the field for the rebels (20min against the canes) he worked a lot off the field. He spent a lot of time mentoring the younger players and supporting the island breeze program. He also looked good in a Box Hill jumper too :) I'm not sure hay type of playing contract...

That is a good question. IIRC he was on a one-year deal to 'have another tilt at the world cup', which now looks extremely unlikely. He seems to be investing himself more in the off-field side of things, such as the Island Breeze program. Having said that, we'll keep him :)

Seems counter-productive to play here, qualify for citizenship, get citizenship, then go back to SA. Especially when the quota system will come in to play next year.

Being that I've only played in the VRU I can't comment with any authority. Having said that, from what others tell me I thought it would have been closer to 2nd / 3rd grade? He did play for Footscray, who haven't been enjoying huge success of late.
