Yeah, getting some insight into the players backgrounds, lives, characters will help. But winning is probably the best marketing tool. Also surprised no one made the connection with Beale and turnstiles

Probably reading too much into the previous posts. As far as Waratahs, HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) is certainly a marketable character, we need more. And as far as media exposure, yes, more Harry can sing, yes Harrison is a pretty good surfer, etc.

Agreed, but Tupou is an anomaly. Posters are talking about attracting new fans to the game and needing superstars to do that. Tupou has that capacity. The Smith twins, Benn Robinson, etc aren’t going to be getting non rugby kids begging their parents to go to the games or casual fans aren’t...

    Waratahs 2021

We shouldn’t be expecting tight five players to be excitement machines who get the turnstiles going. Their job should be all about the set piece, maintaining possession and doing all the grunt work. If they can stand in front of a camera and engage the listener, great. But not at the expense of...

It also would’ve been the team brief to target Argentinas discipline in pressure situations.

And all those kickable penalties won’t necessarily add up on the scoreboard. If a penalty is given for collapsing a maul in an attacking position and we kick to the corner, set another maul which is collapsed and penalised, that’s not going to equal 6 points.

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

There are pluses and minuses in the tight head side, but both are strong. Loose head, less so.

I think Petaia could be a phenomenal fullback. Probably give him more freedom to attack and pop up anywhere on the field. Not sure how he kicks a ball, I doubt he’d be bad. Just have to learn the positional aspects and his decision making for there.

Interesting question (even if not directed at me). JOC (James O'Connor) or To'omua would be the elder statesmen that would be close to first choice, maybe???? AAA would be another, but props never play a full match. White? All except AAA could lose their spot not that far down the road. Does Philip have any...

Seen NMN many times, had all the vinyl and melvins when I was OS, never KARP, had the cds. Good times. Back to rugby....

The ABs couldn’t unleash their “let them make a mistake and we score an awesome try on counterattack” tactic because Argentina made very few silly errors. We had everything stick in Wellington and came close, we had nothing work in Sydney and got belted. Brings up two things: can Argentina...

DP, so you’ve put KARP and nomeansno on here, killer

    Wallabies 2020

Agreed. We need our forwards getting to the breakdown and protecting our ball. NZ lost structure because they kept thinking a few plays ahead, they needed more commitment to protecting the ball they had rather than looking to take the next hit up. Sure you commit more players to the breakdown...

I wouldn’t question Hooper’s selection. Consistently one of our best in wins and losses. I just think it’s a mindset here that the 7 has to be this and the 6 has to be that. You switch the Argentine 6 and 7s jerseys on Saturday, you wouldn’t question their performance in those positions.

    Wallabies 2020

It seems in Australia with the loosies we put all the expectations of athleticism on the 7 and all the expectations of physicality in the 6. The Argentine 6 and 7 displayed both

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

We definitely need players protecting our ball. ABs couldn't set a platform because every ruck/maul argies contested and stymied their attack. NZ were flustered at the breakdown and therefore impatient in attack

The scrums held up well in the Aus A games

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

Hodge can appear clunky at times, but he always does his job well. His adaptability has meant he has been the perfect super sub in the past. At present It’d be perfect to use him as 10/12 and slowly blood Lolesio, Harrison, Simone from the bench and he can shift late in the game like he did on...
