Rebels v Lions - Tuesday 25 June, AAMI Park

Pretty decent game so far. Plenty of running, not a lot of stoppages and some good D by both sides. Hometown will no doubt throw a few spanners in the works....

    Digby WTF?

This and many others..... :) I agree that it's a storm in a teacup but public perceptions are formed pretty quick these days and this sort of off field stuff isn't ideal during a big occasion.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Cruden is pretty good in that regard now, just earlier in his career. Both he and Donald could pass but were good running type 1st 5's that used their short kicking games a fair bit. I know I'm probably in a very small minority here, but I think JOC (James O'Connor) can do the job at 1st 5 this weekend. He was...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Not really Cassius. The ABs when they first played Cruden and even Donald due to Carter either being injured or on a sabbatical, used Nonu extensively as first receiver in general play. The other two weren't stuck at the bottom of rucks either. It was part of the plan to use Nonu's superior wide...

    Digby WTF?

Does Digby think he's Tupac with that tweet :) And I'm sure Digby is grateful for Clyde's 2 cents....

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Fantastic news about AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) if he's fit. I thought I did hear in the radio tonight that he wasn't going to play. It will be an interesting choice between Badger and Tomane - both have a few positives in the bank on why they demand selection. I'd say Badger is the front runner, but wouldn't mind...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

FP I think you've got to go with the players you have in the squad already. McCabe seemed to be the 12/13 cover in the 1st test should AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or Lilo go down crook. Horne is the next cab off the rank to fill that hole now void of the 1st and 2nd options. Wasn't sure what the case was about...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

I think that is why if I were Deans I would be seriously looking at George Smith for one of those jersies. He's not going to have that sort of ratio of tackles/missed that do put pressure on the defensive patterns.

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Here's what I think Deans will go for if the soundings around the injuries are correct. Two forced changes in the starting lineup and the specialist midfield and fullback on the bench. 9. Genia 10. JOC (James O'Connor) 11. Digby 12. Lilo 13. Horne 14. Folau 15. Beale 21. Phipps 22. Taps 23. Mogg

    James Horwill cited for stamping

I hardly weigh into discussions about refs or judiciary because I tend to hold the view that no two incidents are the same and the events prior to and after an incident are different, so it's not really possible to compare sanctions. Also the way a player prepares their defence (if they have...

    James Horwill cited for stamping

Why is it a lottery? These things always turn on the facts of the individual incident, not trial by video alone. It's impossible for those not in the hearing or involved preparing the submissions to make a call if this is right or wrong - or any judicial ruling for that matter.

By the way how's OJ going... :) Just kidding, good write up

    James Horwill cited for stamping

I've only seen a couple of hazy replays, so this may sound somewhat silly, but did he actually connect? Was AWJ asked what happened?

Hearing has been over for a while now. Judiciary taking their time with their decision.

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

Got a link to the article biggsy? Wouldn't mind a read. I know there was a fair bit of media coverage some time ago when he and his family left the LDS church.

    New Zealand vs France

Is he any slower than Kahui or Jane? I don't reckon he is. Last week he got a breakdown steal out on the wing. As for his form, I just think its overall maturity. He's dropping the ball less, he's a leader in the team, and he seems to have fixed up a few off field issues. And I can't help but...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I just don't think Deans sees Folau as a fullback unless in a real emergency. So need another specialist in there. Much the same view that Henry and Hansen have had of Jane I guess.

    New Zealand vs France

I don't reckon he would. My personal view is that this AB coaching panel, like the last see him as a winger. And I kinda agree. His best work is in space where in 1 on 1 situations he's an absolute handful. He's not a big offloader of the ball in contact and there are probably a couple of other...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see George Smith start at 6 or 8 for test 2.
