    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Did Timani pick up a knock or was it a planned sub to save him? Would be a strange decision to save players when the game hasn't been won yet even if it's looking almost certain Aus will go on to win this one.

Turn over to Scotland there, Barnes' dummy wasn't exactly subtle. Need better execution or they'll use up the clock and keep Scotland in the game.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Not a bad performance by Aus to keep the score 3-6 at halftime into such a strong wind. They were more impressive as the game went on. It's just a pity they don't have a natural kicked at fly half to really take advantage of the conditions. From the pack those who would be expected to start...

Also Harris's kicking style is well suited to the conditions, drilling low reduces the affect of the wind.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Grubber kicks and ones with low trajectory will be very successful in these conditions especially if you take into account Scotland's poor handling ability even in the dry.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Aus need a few more of the forwards to follow the lead of Pocock and Moore and make the decision to pick and go. The little delay when players decide what to do or wait to be told what to do is costing Aus momentum and allow Scotland to set the defence.

Can see why Aus aren't kicking much, up and under definitely went up but net gain of zero.

    Great hit by Diggers there.

Tomane saved Genia's blushes there, was just poor handling but the fact that he decided to wait for the ball to drop rather than attack it.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Very scrappy start but still really excited simply because it's a test match. Scotland have had a good first 10 minutes but as in the 6Ns they struggle to convert pressure and field position to points. Handling errors galore thanks to the conditions. Expect this to be a close one for at least 60...

Sky sports lost their commentary for a while due to water in the electrics.

    2012 IRB Junior World Championship

Another shock result with Argentina beating France 18-15.

    2012 IRB Junior World Championship

Ireland were very impressive in beating hosts SA 23-19. Despite kicking out on the full 3 times in the open minutes JJ Hanrahan recovered to have a very good game. Ireland got 2 charge down tries, 1 in either half from Coughlan and Henderson. SA seemed to be surprised by the physicality and...

What is wrong with the Tahs

The best way to attract interest from corporations is to be successful. Big corporations love to be associated with successful sports teams and would be falling over each other to be sponsors if that Tahs consistently had a winning team. The same is true of corporate boxes it's much easier to...

Can you tell the difference between these jerseys?

I've seen refs calling with two blue teams before and normally they call the team with more blue "blue" and the other team by whatever their 2nd colour is, normally "white". But in cases like this I don't know why they can't make one team us a chance strip just for that game. It's not like...

What is wrong with the Tahs

There's a lot wrong with that Tahs and I've posted about most of it before. But one of the main things wrong with them is a lack of leadership through the organisation: No leadership from the board: They've shown no indication that they are willing to make the necessary changes not only to...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

It seems to be an exclusive trait of the Wallabies, among tier 1 nations, to first pick the team and then decide who will do the kicking and take place kicks.

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Jacobsen looked very tired toward the end of the season with Edinburgh and he's listed as rested for this tour. Maybe it's a combination of the years catching up with him and AR seeing an opportunity to blood a possible long term replacement.

What is wrong with the Tahs

Don't agree with Carter being scapegoated. He's not a flash player but he's not the worst performing player in the Tahs. Also very few champion teams have flash players from 1-15. The Tom Carters of this world are needed to do the unseen and unfashionable work to allow the flash players to get...

Waratahs vs Hurricanes - Super Rugby 2012 Rd 15

One thing I noticed looking at the players after the game is that very few Tahs players wanted to make eye contact with their team mates and there were no leaders speaking to the group and trying to motivate them. Sad to see the team setting records in the wrong way also.
