Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

In my experience the hard wins are the ones that years later you remember with the most fondness.

Thought the ref was pretty good. Got one call wrong for a pen against Wales at the scrum which Barnes subsequently missed so not much harm do there. Then other than the faffing about over a scrum that took forever I thought he had a pretty good game. I could see from a Welsh point of view that...

Wales definitely should have hung onto the ball at the end. Kicking it away is just inviting the opposition to come back and snatch it and invariable they do just that. 3 whole hours until my next fix of test rugby!

No doubt about that kick as soon as he struck it. Well done to Aus for getting into position to win the game. Wales had a chance to close out the game and should have backed themselves to hold onto the ball and run the clock down.

Hooper's knock on could be very costly. It wasn't the most sympathetic pass but he still should have held it.

Excellent break from Diggers just didn't have the acceleration after the jink to pull away from the chasers.

The miss was maybe poetic justice for the head scratching about the award of the penalty. Still feel sorry for Barnes as his hip didn't hold up for one last kick.

In fairness there's a lot to love about his performance. IF Aus lose the opinions on the performance of those in gold will be adversely coloured by it, but win or lose Barnes deserves a lot of praise for how he's played tonight.

Aus really can't afford for Barnes to go off injured, but if he stays on a slight knock might become something more serious.

Aus were way too slow to spot that they had huge numbers advantage out on the left. Great run by Barnes in the build up there. Anyone who argues against Barnes' selection on this form would be doing so just out of a personal bias. However I can certainly see the argument against him when he...

Ref is being way too precious about these scrums, just get on with it.

Great response from Wales with that try. Genia was terrible, Aus lucky not to get a yellow card for taking a man out off the ball in the chase.

I bet Mrs Barnes wishes her delivery was as clean and quick as that try.

Great try by Aus there, full credit to Barnes attacking the line. He has plenty of critics and sometimes rightly so as knowing he can do things like that but so often doesn't. Laid it on a plate for Horne and the overall support running was excellent, so often in the modern game a break like...

What a run from Phillips and excellent recovery from Aus to prevent a try and eventually turn it over.

Wales' lineout have been terrible so far, gifting easy possession and territory to Aus.

Genia is back to waiting for direction from his forwards, like he was against Scotland. He's so much more effective when he makes the decisions on instinct like he did last week.

Warburton down, hopefully he's able to continue.

Silly option from Genia there with the kick. Those have to be executed perfectly and he wasn't even close. Still Aus feeling their way into the game now. Good defence from Wales but they haven't really seen much of the ball since the try.
