Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

The cheap stuff must be done half-heartedly. The intention is to get inside the head of the opponent, not to hurt them or (worse) get carded or sent off. Some players seem to have the ability to niggle invisibly and well. Higginbotham, clearly not. And it can be highly effective against some...

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 2 Argentina vs Australia - 6 Oct

How is applauding the team for grinding out a tough win in exceptionally difficult circumstances, the same as accepting mediocrity? It was a poor game, but the Wallabies were far from mediocre. If you could afford to give your country just a small part of the adulation you have for your...

Exactly. Fringe players don't deserve retention - they earn it. Cumins gets a shot - correct play.

    Kane Douglas

Yes, for the Reds. As a neutral I consider him in the low second tier so far, below Turner who has a wonderful show reel of both Supe and test tries, and very far below JOC (James O'Connor), Ioane and Mitchell. He might turn out to be good but being a cheerleader is no recommendation.

    Kane Douglas

Like many outright fast men, such as Turner, Shipperley lacks explosiveness. Great in a foot race but not so much at test level with a high quality defensive line between him and the tryline. Unlike (say) JOC (James O'Connor), Ioane and Mitchell who can often get past the best defenders one on one.

It's not me being precious. We have a community consensus not to call players names like "fucks". If you don't like that then go to another forum.

    Wallabies Positivity Thread . .

Yep. He's not the usual Australian running 6 - but he could be. And we'll gain a great deal at the breakdown with two players so strong over the ball. Two short-arses in the lineout but meh, Polota-Moore can just throw it straight to the opposition (a skill they already have) and then we'll...

That was an unnecessarily abusive post, in parts. Beale is fat, but not a fuck.

I agree. People have criticised Kurtley in the past for not having the same long passing game as Quade (no one does) but that's not necessarily a bad thing. He can pass long enough, and the ball may go the same way through the players' hands more, instead of over two players.

Quade telling it how it is

Damn right. Something strange has happened to the Aussie rugby fan over the past decade. We've started behaving like the generation Y entitlement junkies that we profess to disdain, angry when we lose, always looking for someone to blame, because we haven't been given what we deserve.

Our Centre Partnership - Moving Forward

Yes that's a perfect 13 draw and pass.

Our Centre Partnership - Moving Forward

I can't agree, Torn Hammy. JOC (James O'Connor)'s highlights reel is full of great last passes - although they've been mainly at close quarters. But that's often how a 13's last pass works as well.

Can any of the propping mavens tell us about Paddy's strengths and weaknesses?

Absolutely. The theory is to fly to Safferland, train at sea level, then fly to the game on the day.
