No forward in world rugby averages 5m per carry.

I'm so excited by this game. Go Wallabies!

fatprop, as a back I'm fascinated as always by the black arts. Why does it take longer?

What makes you think that the ROI for global advertising is higher than for regional or local advertising? Do you have any market research to back up that fabrication, erm... I mean assertion? Clearly money spent by businesses selling products in Australia is better spent advertising in Sydney...

If I knew what that meant I'd leave it there as well.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

That would explain why he gets so much time there at the Reds.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

I agree. Link will play the best gameplan as he sees it. I;'m happy to trust in that.

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

Yep. There's a new argument in the land about not starting new players against the Lions / against the AIGs / against the Boks. This has never been the case in the past. Play the best team in every game.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Yes, the talk of running rugby is premature. McKenzie will play what it takes to win. If that's field position or a pressure game, that's what he'll do.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

The Brumbies were very tired tonight. They did a grueling schedule to get to the final, then led it until they ran out of gas. I'd cut their players some slack. Having said that I'm not at all convinced by Mogg. Great when put into space but seriously lacking in physicality. Some way to go yet.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

That's a great post, RedsHappy , and I agree. That's why I think the Dimness are "generally" better. It's within our grasp to catch up, but we have to be equal or better at every level.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

I know this is heretical, but the coach can't do much if other teams simply have better players than us. Rather than be a last throw of the dice, a new coach is an opportunity to build, to move closer to the position where we have the best players. It's never an instant process, but instead...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Indeed. In the event of a conservative style the coach can be changed.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Plenty of goal kickers in the squad: Lilo, JOC (James O'Connor), Cooper, Mogg, White. You'd need four of those injured to call up Harris as cover.

What do you make of Benji Marshal to rugby?

Beale to the Tahs next year was a done deal some time ago. Chieka wants him for his rugby, not the hype.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Not at all. However, progress towards the opposition try line is important, more so when it's dominant, since it means you're consistently getting over the gain line. When your back row makes almost as many meters with the ball in hand as the opposition team in total then you obviously have a...

    James Horwill cited for stamping

Perhaps it was cooked up solely for that purpose.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Indeed. The Lions back row made a combined total of 21 meters compared to 78 meters for the Aus back row, with Hooper and Palu making over 30 meters each. The Lions made a total of 140 running meters. And we want to drop these guys. Insanity.
