Bledisloe #1 New Zealand vs Australia, August 7 2021

What I’d like to see as the Wallabies side at this stage - Slipper Paenga-Amosa Tupou Swain Salakai-Loto Swinton Hooper Wilson McDermott Lolesio Koroibete Paisami Ikitau Wright Banks Bell Uelese Ala'alatoa Philip Valetini White Hodge Petaia I am probably wrong about McDermott &...

And Hooper, Hanigan & Holloway will all be an upgrade on what they had available this year. Plus all the young guys have an extra years experience. Agree though that ‘re-set’ is a stretch, but as a marketing strategy it still works better than ‘less shit then 2021’. I really do hope they can...

If he is already in lock-down/isolation as above then it shouldn’t make a difference, should it?

What was the feedback on Samu playing 7s - unfortunately I didn’t get to watch any of the games. Kerevi has already proven at test level he can bust through even the best defenders with his size and power. His problems have always been around his passing decisions/ball retention and his...

Well - he’s probably going to add another 10 or so pages of comments to the thread, so he’ll give people something to talk about at least.

With regard to pecking order as far as I understand, he isn’t in the playing squad. He is part of the coaching staff. It has been flagged he has capability to play in need, but I’m assuming all the options on the squad would be used first. Maybe that’s wrong, but they’ve obviously been talking...

On a seperate note, I get that COVID is going to through a fair few extra obstacles to negotiate. But a 42 player tour squad has to be the biggest they’ve taken for a long time. What an experience for some of these young guys.

It’s not really a choice over Hodge, To'omua or Paia’aua though. It’s a product of who is available to take who will be able to slot in if Lolesio, To'omua, Paia’aua & Hodge all become unavailable due to injury, bearing in mind they won’t be able to call someone in between tests. If that happens...

Wow. Left-field is one way to describe it.

Agree with that Reg. His second last year at the Reds I thought he was really kicking on, but his last year he couldn’t back it up. We need to build depth at 10 and it throws someone else into the mix at least.

Especially to a young guy like Gordon. More senior rugby game time can only be a good thing.

The locks selected have all been in good form. Frost is the only only who may have not played better at super rugby level than Hosea, but he is clearly a talent on the rise and did play some very good games during the season. I don’t deny Hosea’s talent, and I would have been happy to see him...

I think Wayne Bennett’s rule was based on having a normal spread of young guys to veterans.

Especially a big, strong one who can get you over the gain line. He would seem a really good fit, if available.

Interesting Mafi featured so highly when he effectively got benched for half the season. IMO he has the makings of a really good player. Quite different to BPA, but good all the same. Does need to make sure he consistently nails his throwing though.

Hooper appeared to know. Although I can’t remember the actual number he gave O’Keefe. The man can literally do everything.

It was interesting listening to Rennie talk about it in the press conference and he pointed out he was part of a panel which advised on the current framework. His key point was that on contact the French players head came forward, not backwards which was a clear indication that initial contact...
