Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

ABs have been awful in the first half but looking better. Last thirty will be interesting.

Thats a bit of a stretch. Complacent? In a the 2nd to last game before the RWC? A chance to sew up the Rugby Championship and retain the Bledisloe? There is so much riding on this game, for both teams, complacency is the last thing I would expect.

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

Not quite sure how you read anything about excuses into my post. A number of All Blacks have said that they don't want to be the ones to lose the Bledisloe, so there will be no complacency, despite the last 12 years of results. I think it was Retallick I was listening to on the radio discussing...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I think there are too many All Blacks, who have never lost the Bledisloe, terrified that they will be the ones responsible for losing it after all these years. There will only be an A team out there.

If I am sporting Sterling Mortlock next week, it will be a national week of mourning. Every news update will mention the disastrous loss. Every moment of the game will be dissected in full. Ex All Blacks will be trotted/wheeled out for their opinions. There will be endless talkback discussion...

Yeah, but to be honest, its like taking candy from a baby. I almost feel guilty making the bet, thats why I was reluctant to go mad on conditions.:) Anyway, here is what I am putting up for grabs.

I will. Avatar and signature for one week/till Bled 2. I'm fine with just avatar. Just to make it clear, I'm picking ABs to win.

Well not on this site anyway. I am pretty sure I am the only kiwi who has commented, and mine was limited to "Good idea". Though to be fair I have absolutely no idea how this debate is going in the West Island. Anyway, I am sure gents at Rugby 365 will be going insane when the news of Hooper...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I think there will be tussle if a Wallaby tried to impregnate Read, or indeed any AB. The game will be exciting enough without any of those sort of shenanigans. Looks like a weak All Blacks backline for Bled 1. We will be reduced to fielding SBW or Fekitoa for Nonu. Too early to claim underdog...

I think this post will be studiously ignored by the locals on this site. Good idea though. Something uniquely australian.

In all honesty, I think Skelton would be much better coming off the bench for the last 20-25 and just smashing opposition. I think he would be more useful that way that starting. He could be a wrecking ball. I also think he is in danger of becoming a big penalty magnet as well. What advantage he...

Last time Skelton played the Highlanders he was miles too slow and could not keep up. I am not the only kiwi who is hoping Skelton gets a full 80. I think Cheika would dearly love a hard man in the forwards, like a Brad Thorn or Brodie Retallick. Skelton may get there, but he is not there...

And the Herald is descending into grubby little tabloid status, so don't get too upset by what you read in there. It's certainly never representative of NZ media.

Why the hell didn't the prop coming on step up and demand at least 1 scrum for a go. He could have been a hero. As Sean Fitzpatrick said in the post game show "I am sure there are Springbok forwards spinning in their graves right now".

Yes, it was almost like he was hoping to milk a penalty for Folau's dangerous play.

With Sopoaga a 10 capable of starting a big game, not just a last quarter finisher like Barrett.

Both. But the reserves from the ABs far superior. Non contested scrum decision by the Bok was a big call.

The call for uncontested scrums has been a massive mistake by the boks IMO. Just gifting clean ball to the ABs
