    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

Good try Moono, but we're not biting.

    Chiefs v Rebels Rd 9 2014

I thought Pulu got the start last week to give TKB a rest (Chiefs are very into resting players and squad rotation). But TKB is off the bench for the second week in a row so clearly the Chiefs dropped TKB behind Pulu. Now Pulu's OK but on his form this year TKB was looking very good. Not sure...

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

If everything is so tickety-boo how come you are 3 and 4 so far?

Even more surprised McMahon got benched for Fainga'a!

    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

Looks like Tala Grey has had a two week holiday in SA with a bit of aerobic training to keep him fit. Although Cheika said Grey would get game time I think this reflects how worried the Tahs are about this game. What really worries me is that Growden says the Tahs will win by 50. Given the...

    Reds v Force Rd 8 2014

The other side to this coin is that between 5th and 11th there are only three points. So, any team in that bracket have only to win the next three games while the other contenders are bashing each other up and they will be in the top four and well positioned for a run at the top two. We are...

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Staniforth over Whetton is a huge call. Maybe its the right call but Whetton is going to be hugely pissed off, probably enough to send him home next year.

    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

Mate, you''ll lose your Queensland citizenship if you say that too loud. Every Queenslander knows from birth that New South Welshmen are the enemy and the source of all evil in this great land of ours. Last weekend's loss must have hit very, very hard.

    Highlanders v Rebels RD 8 2014

Except that in my opinion the offence should have been in the high range. A long way off the ball, lifted well above the 90 and driven down hard. That's the definition of high range for mine. If that's mid range then not much will ever be put in the high category.

    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

Given the number of wingers who are out/doubtful I wonder whether we will see Horne at 11 again this week. If Horne defends at 12 then that should negate Godwin's crash ball and Beale can drop back to support Folau on the kick return. On attack, Horne would be very useful for the inside switch...

    A slightly more balanced view.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

My reply was to Merrow, he's a Brumbies fan and they've had difficulties with Walsh before. The message was not directed at the Reds players but at the Brumbies, who push the ruck rules to the limits. Though I do recall the Reds having problems with some referees this year, their issues seem...

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

They don't need to give up just yet; but they do need to give up trying to bend the rules at the ruck and the offside line a bit. If they do then they might stay "onside" (sorry) with Mr Walsh for a bit longer.

    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

I agree entirely. This is a real banana skin game for the Tahs and the Force could be top of the Australian comp if they get up and the Reds do too. If the Tahs don't deliver their A game they'll get beat for sure. I said some weeks ago on the forum that this week was the start of an easier...

    Reds v Force Rd 8 2014

The heading says "Tackling the jumper in the air." When someone jumps up for the ball, either at the lineout or to field a kick in play, they are protected from being tackled. The law says "the player must not tackle NOR TAP, PUSH OR PULL THE FEET." Nowhere does it say that pushing by the body...

Dear Irish fans, You poor bastards. King Midas in reverse, everything he touches turns to shit.

But the NZ number 10 production line rolls out Gareth Anscombe, who was a star at under-20's and has a stellar record at 15. Most teams would love to have him as their 10 but Cruden rarely gets injured. I doubt the Chiefs will lose much at all.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Spoken like a true Queenslander. Next thing you know we'll be hearing "We can't win the comp this year but we will have a good year if we can beat the Tahs."

    Reds v Force Rd 8 2014

In my opinion RH, this is already happening. QC (Quade Cooper) is throwing every second long pass forward - thanks to the refs a lot are not getting picked up. The element of surprise has vanished and if the QLD coaching staff don't address this soon then the Red's season is cooked and they'll be back to...

    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

This game is fourth versus fifth on the ladder! Bet no one dreamed of this possibility after round two.
