    Aussie Player Exodus

Brooklyn Hardaker off to join Hoiles at the Giltinis. Not the biggest of names, but was doing some freakish stuff at Randwick and was close to a 7s call up before injuring his knee this year.

Northern Tours 2021 - NZ, SA, etc

Watching Arg v France. Can’t see the goal line drop out being fair for the attacking team if they’re held up

And if fit, I’d pick Perese at 12 as he’s such an aggressive runner. We don’t need a backline all playing cute, we need QC (Quade Cooper) having a few options to just run hard. although I guess there are questions about his defence. But defence wasn’t great across the whole Tahs backline last season.

I’m not sure anyone else has put this, and of course there are plenty of downsides to this concept. but if RA really push this issue it may make these foreign clubs with big wallets think twice about picking the eyes out of our talent here. Surely the allure of signing our best test players with...

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

He’d also take that tactic out of the equation, which meant less mid field bombs/ box kicks, which meant a better game to watch

That’s sad news, an entertaining player, always made things happen on the field.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Yeah, I’d go dungunu or Perese as a replacement as they are rip and tear type players like Koro

    Waratahs 2022

Canberra struggles to attract and retain players in the NRL. If the brumbies were located elsewhere, be that place nicer, worse, more crowded, less crowded the young players would go there if they and their managers thought it best for their career

From what I’ve seen Raper would’ve be an amazing 7 in those days too. They did play with unlimited tackles and 3 yard back defence, so it would’ve been similar to todays rugby.

    Wallabies 2021

It was his cunning plan to be a mercurial playmaker, play 70 or so tests for the wallabies, win a Super Rugby title. then fall out of favour with his Super Rugby coach, bide his time in QPR and Japanese 2nd division for a few years, then return to the fold because he’s pretty much the only viable backup due to...

    Waratahs 2022

I remember watching him at colts level, if his opposition could contain him for the first 15 of each half you had a chance. He bludged in the centres for the rest of the time.

    Waratahs 2022

That being said Douglas and Williams look like they’ll be good in a few years. Pity we don’t have an experienced campaigner to guide them along.

    Waratahs 2022

Yep. Skelton wasn’t utilised or trained up properly here. Goes OS, learns the game, gets paid massive coin, is now one of the first picked. And as Derpus insinuated that period when we had Gibson coaching, he preferred the smaller more mobile pack which chased off all the developing big locks.

I agree we need a third tier. It would’ve helped if NSW had taken it seriously as a development tool. I agree that talent identification and development hasn’t been good enough for many years. I just see the landscape changing with this NH tour and the picking of OS locks over domestic ones. In...
