    Reds 2016

Interesting points dru. One aspect of this whole 2016 Reds coaching group scenario is just this managerial complexity - MO'C has hitherto principally been an HC. Working for RG is a form of demotion for him, in these terms, and additionally he applied unsuccessfully for the HC position. He...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I certainly hope L Gill is as well. I've said before: if Poey goes down, or Hooper, I don't think we've got the right essential skills in the 31 to adequately replace them without very high risk that our breakdown capability is dangerously weakened vs the best RWC teams.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

My understanding is quite different. It is that Ledesma's actual coaching experience and, in this case, appointed competency, is precisely that relating to scrummaging, and little else. I believe a trace back on most media relating to his appointment with the Wallabies will confirm this...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

Just a btw, the TSS loose forwards were very impressive, and consistently so, vs Churchie last weekend. They turned the momentum against Churchie from about minute 30 and kept up the same to the end, just great skills. IMO, if TSS had won, in significant part it'd be down to them.

    Reds 2016

gel, nice, indeed inspiring, to see that faith hath no bounds ;) . Well, it could well be a world rugby first if a proven very poor HC in Lazarus with a triple by-pass mode can be overcome with (a) superior Assistant Coaches and (b) a green and largely unproven squad, such that, from this...

    Reds 2016

Totally 4918. I have often thought it'd be a masochistic version of fun to build up a dossier of all the QRU's/RG's statements of what explains their multiple poor performances, all their multifarious excuses, all the blaming of players and so so, and in the process show compellingly how...

Be that as it may TWAS, most competent CEOs and boards (of entities that are not family-owned and thus have a mix of stakeholder types) know that employing direct family members into a business where a family member sits over them in seniority, or is in a key position generally, is fraught with...

Some interesting little tidbits from news.com.au's online coverage today of the M O'Connor sign-up: Does anyone here know who exactly is on this rather mysterious Panel that arose from the famous Independent Review process? This is interesting. Whom exactly was responsible for this 'poor...

Talk about self-demeaning, condescending cheap shots against a poster with, seemingly, a contrary viewpoint to yours. Uppercut yourself. Argue the issues. There's plenty of people in our country that make a few spelling or grammatical errors, doesn't mean their point of view shouldn't be...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

Correct ps. Not only 'guilty of this' in years past, but it was more often than not the norm for most if not all GPS schoolboy supporters! And, to the best of my knowledge, other than the perennially sour grapes brigade that didn't like it when they lost, it was accepted by most everybody else...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

Certainly a better alternative than the hapless Deans' choice of Bram van S tutoring Wallaby kicking largely via Skype. That was beyond laughable, as were the results in general. Though I am pretty sure that, whilst Malone was a 10, he is not a specialist kicking coach in any guise, rather...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

Who the fuck could blame the poor bastard - his RWC and deep Test experience and 'as-revitalised-under-Chek' skills displaced by Carter!? That is at once cruel and bizarre.

That very thought crossed my mind when the J Joseph alleged analogy was mentioned so assertively. Chills ran down the spine when the penny dropped as to what this could mean.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

Re point 1, the venue, surely you're right. And only now in Australia for the Wallabies v England Tests in 2016 is the ARU finally realising that poorly filled stadia in Sydney and Melbourne for big Tests is a poor look and poor economics to boot. Accordingly, for near-on the first time these...

Totally right, and I did mention that. But it was all a pre-given script from on high, it was not the place for a discussion of factual matters.

    Reds 2016

.......just in case you changed your mind. The Reds membership lady I spoke to to cancel my 2 Plat seats said 'we've had a lot a of very upset and aggressive calls from Members not renewing'. Plus, btw, they had a standard script re RG along the lines of: - 'the Board conducted a long and...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

That gel is THE telling point. Any student of Marketing 101 can observe how poorly the Wallabies and Wallaby Tests are marketed here by the ARU, even when involving T1 competitors. In Brisbane - one of only two main home towns for rugby in Australia - the last 2 Wallaby tests here were...
