They don't need state funding because they are, you know, attended.

Yeah pretty surprising they didn't throw a little tanty and refuse like they do with everything else. Bigger chip than the fugn westerners.

International rugby is pretty farcical. Can't see him making it but I also don't understand why more outside backs don't have a crack at NFL. Someone like Kolbe, if he went young enough, could make it IMO. Theres also so little risk - they get paid a shitload to just train and if they fail to...

Ive been convinced to fly down for the super round this year.

Hanigan seems a good foil for Gleeson. A lot to like about the backrow you've chosen. Definitely need some second rowers to step up, though.

Four guys...? Its pretty normal for amateurs to give up League for Union. Its easier.

All things flow from interest in the game. I don't think you technically need flogs like me rocking up hungover to flail around for a while to keep interest in the game - but it sure helps.

As has been the case since 2015 onwards - tight five is not finalist quality.

It's worth pointing out that 'international' competitions in Europe are quite different to what Super Rugby was at its most bloated (which was fucken galaxy spanning). Europe is tiny. Granted SA are now somewhat integrated but they are, at least, in the same time zone. They are having issues as...

Most European rugby is propped up by corporates/individual interest. Rugby is generally a pretty unproductive activity (financially).

Might have to add another 10kg and 10cm to his frame fer dat.

Yeah - but the third option seems like the only one that could result in something worth watching, right?

Its kind of crazy to me people still think it can be saved.

I have no clue how you build a competitive test side. But I suspect the sport being watched and enjoyed probably factors in somewhere. Can't say I'm particularly excited to see the Crusaders prolonged coronation ceremony again.

The vast majority of the people in charge of rugby in Australia have proven to be wholly incompetent. Not sure how much weight we should be giving their opinions. I say we need a domestic comp purely from a selfish perspective. Its what I as a fan would want (and seems to be what most fans...

Its because NZ can't sustain the comp alone. This has always been the paradigm - NZ is the bigger brother in this sport and they demand a multi-national comp. Aus on the other hand is very insular from a sporting perspective and realistically needs a domestic comp. A doomed union.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

You wouldn't really expect anything better than amateur coverage for a (very hard on the eyes) amateur competition, would ya? Shute Shield hasn't, isn't and won't convert a single fucken soul to rugby.

    Overestimated...?

Dumbfuck should probably stick to necking beers, having shite tattoos and being a really good winger.

Just because one has been competent in the past doesn't mean they will continue to be or have always been.
