    Bledisloe # 3 - Saturday 31st October, ANZ Stadium

So who from the Wallabies backline would be able to make the All Blacks match day squad? I'd suggest zero at best.

    Bledisloe # 3 - Saturday 31st October, ANZ Stadium

Fullback is the least of our worries in our backline at the moment- we should be more concerned about 10,12,11 and 14. Even Petaia has been overhyped; he's threatening for sure but as mentioned earlier he turns over the ball 2/3 times he gets possession.

    Dan Palmer

Good article- similar to Andrew Webster's a few years ago that was a seriously powerful piece of writing.

    Wallabies 2020

I'd say the Waratahs would be.

    Waratahs 2021

Seems like you don’t really even understand this (statistically pretty flimsy) theory. How can they contribute to any form of cohesiveness when they’ve hardly been on the field as part of the team. That cohesiveness is about keeping together core combinations of your starting team- not fringe...

    Reds 2021

I’d suggest a number of those 10s you listed might have a completely different set of values to yourself. Maybe loyalty to Queensland rugby isn’t their primary concern.

    Reds 2021

How can one be mercenary in professional sport? Should they not seek the best opportunity?

    Reds 2021

This is completely fictional, the guy was unwanted by the Storm so returned to QLD rugby. Regardless he played years of Shute Shield and never consistently stood out. He has solid core skills but no ability to take the ball to the line or create for his outside backs- he wasn't even considered...

Bledisloe 2 at Eden Park 18/10/20

No he wasn’t- he was strong in Game 1 but not at all yesterday. There was a reason Gordon got additional game time.

Bledisloe 2 at Eden Park 18/10/20

Pretty much this, except I actually think Gordon has been pretty decent and coming on with 10-15 mins with all structure lost makes it pretty hard for a halfback. I'd be inclined to start Gordon and bring Tate off the bench.

Bledisloe 2 at Eden Park 18/10/20

I don't get this- you'd select Wright at 7 over Hooper purely for the fact he's a better jumper and deficient everywhere else? We already have 3-4 jumpers (as mentioned Wilson at a stretch is a line out option), why would you then select a 7 purely for the line out? Hooper has been lifted in the...

Bledisloe 2 at Eden Park 18/10/20

I think this game really showed the gulf in class between the outside backs between the two teams, with the two forward packs being close to equal (at least with the starting pack, there was a noticeable drop in class when Simmons and Wright came on). Despite Koribete's work rate and...

He wouldn't have broken one tackle in that game.

    Waratahs 2020

I once saw Dan Carter have a pretty average 20 minutes too.

Prediction for you mate - there will be no private equity investment for next year's competition - there's not enough time or certainty.

    Western Force 2021

You're a big fan of Godwin, yet very happy to eager to criticise Alex Newsome or Joey Walton? What am I missing here..
  17. eastman

    Western Force 2021

I think consistent is probably the best you can say about Godwin (echoing RR's comment above). I really hope the Waratahs look to spend that contract money elsewhere.
  18. eastman

    Waratahs 2021

Godwin isn't going to add any more than Moeroa, Hunt or Walton already provide; but it is likely to come at a higher price. With finances tight, the 'tahs are better placed using that money to invest in an actual strike outside back or second- rower, rather than a middling centre.

    Wallabies 2020

Literally 80% of the time Hooper plays, he is the best player on the field- regardless of what jersey he puts on (and that's not hyperbole). Gill never got a chance, because Hooper never allowed him too. All this talk about complicity, corruption and damage to rugby in this country is actual...

    Wallabies 2020

This doesn't make any sense- you want to pick the player who isn't even the best fullback in his provincial team to start there for the Wallabies, all to allow a 6/2 bench despite the fact the team will feature players who are already versatile and have earnt the position on merit(e.g. O'Connor...
