Maybe the QRU are trying hard not to repeat the revolving door coaching of the mid 00s, but have swung too far the other way? I am really struggling to understand the logic they are employing.

    Crusaders v Reds (Rnd 13)

One of the most annoying things about Genia's play (and it has been like this seemingly forever anyway - not just under RG) is that when a turnover is about to happen or even the hint of one he will put his hands up in the air, point at the ball, yell at a team mate or the ref whilst watching...

    Crusaders v Reds (Rnd 13)

QRU are making it very difficult to support an organisation that refuses to support itself. In the toughest provincial competition in the world and in the toughest sporting market in the world, why make things harder by keeping a completely incompetent coaching staff?

I just hope that next year we can get a new naming rights sponsor - I'm getting sick of reading "the hapless Queensland reds..." in the papers the day after every game.

    *edit*: forget it.

Who's being self-deprecating? *edit* dont bother responding - you're just trolling now and I have risen to the bait. end.

    Crusaders v Reds (Rnd 13)

There's being hopeful, and then there's being realistic (and of course, also being idiotically optimistic). I was being realistic. Upon the arrival of @Scoey's pre match report, I'll switch over to somewhere between hopeful and idiotically optimistic. Until then, realistic it is. (edit -...

    Crusaders v Reds (Rnd 13)

The crusaders will not use any lube and will not call us the following morning. I can't even start to guess what the score might be.

because I couldn't fucking get home. A sizeable chunk of SE Qld were probably in the same situation.

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

Just for clarification, the quote is Wayne Smith's words. I (hopefully) think the reds wouldn't use words like that. Like Georgina is the mouthpiece of the tahs, Wayne Smith seems to be the mouthpiece of the QRU so it is difficult to tell these days. My wife and I enjoy hospitality of the...

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/opinion/queensland-reds-to-defy-fans-and-reappoint-richard-graham/story-e6frg7v6-1227331039195 "Graham is not going to be sacked. Get used to it, Reds fans. Some won’t get used to it, of course, and will walk away from the team they love. Some will size up...

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

I am certainly in agreement with you, TWAS. I had made up my mind prior to the end of last season, but I am desperately trying to see the other point of view (the boards), and find that sometimes is an interesting exercise and can sometimes, if rarely, be fruitful. There must be *something*...

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

I'll start: wide running forwards is not necessarily a bad thing so long as the players commit to having multiple runners and really attack the ball. It certainly can yield a very fast and attractive style of play when it comes off. Perhaps he just needed the players to really buy into it?

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

*if* the rumours are true and Richard Graham is retained as coach of the reds then either almost every rugby observer is wrong and he actually has some decent coaching skills that just haven't surfaced, or the reds board are wrong. Given the latter has pretty much been discussed to death...

I was under the impression that Cordingley was also instrumental in the recruitment. It certainly wasn't all Richard Graham by himself, so attributing it solely to him is spurious. I am fine to give him some credit for it (and did so earlier in this thread) - but not all the credit. Saying...

    Reds 2016

Wow, that is some selective thinking... Still, using QRU logic and ignoring this year's results (injury) and the force results (historically poor), that leaves 2014 as a valid measurement: 5 wins from 16 games (31.25%) which is still shit. Can't understand the QRU's thinking.
