    Waratahs 2013

True but an organisation that had all it's ducks in a row would issue a joint statement quashing said rumours if they were clear on where Foley will coach next year. The problem with the Tahs is that not only are their ducks not neatly lined up, they're scattered and they have other types of...

Learning from the enemy – an affordable Third Tier competition

Rather than having actual promotion and relegation you could have qualification each year based on results of the previous years Shute Shield/QPR and have some spots ring fenced if the Super franchises "A" teams are involved, something along the lines of how HEC qualification works. This would...

2013 RWC sevens (final before olympics) awarded to russia

The Irish Women's team have manager to qualify which is a pretty good achievement when you consider we've only had a team for 3 months. Still have a lot of improvement to do on the men's side though to be ready for the Olympics. Actually putting a team into the 7s circuit would be a start.

Learning from the enemy – an affordable Third Tier competition

Posted the below a while ago in the Ideas for Aus Rugby thread. Really like Bruce's idea of having the top club teams from established Rugby areas involved. Also believe that teams from non Rugby areas should be involved as mentioned in my other post below.

    Waratahs 2013

That's the problem with politicians and organisations run on political lines. Half the time in office is spent fixing or getting rid of initiatives from their predecessor and the other half is spent implementing initiatives to make life difficult for their successor. Between the two very little...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Just a comment on the Top 5 thing. Wales were no. 5 in the world at the start of the series with Australia, rose to no. 4 briefly and only dropped to no. 6 after the series ended and France climbed above them by beating Argentina.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Agree Frisby too often takes a couple of steps towards the player he's going to pass it to. Not only does it result in slow ball, but it also tells the defence who he's going to pass to.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Sharks definitely deserved to get a yellow card earlier than the last minute, but they also deserved to win the game. Thought it was a strange question for Kaplan to ask the TMO, maybe Kaplan thought there was a double movement? From what I saw on the replays I thought that would have been...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Genia at 10 really hasn't worked. He did some really great stuff when he had a purple patch before half time, but this 2nd half he's poor and taken some bad options. His performance today has summed up his season for me. Flashes of brilliance when he looks absolutely unplayable but at other...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Thought there should have been a yellow there for the Sharks for kicking the ball away, given Kaplan's earlier warning. Noticed a couple of times a Reds player struggling against 2 or 3 Sharks players close to the line with Reds players just watching on. Sometimes you just have to say to hell...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Did that Sharks player just fall over with the try line at his mercy?

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Why tap the penalty with the defence set and not kick to the corner? They were starting outside the 22 rather than possibly 5m out.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Thought that was a try taking the evidence from the 2 angles.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Good reffing from Kaplan giving the warning, apart from this period there hasn't been anything previous to warrant a yellow for repeat infringements. As long as he follows up the warning with a yellow on the next piece of cynical play close to the line.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Frisby should have given that ball out, only person who bought his dummy was Diggers.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

I thought Lucas was having a pretty good game before he had to go off irrespective of his suitability for the role in the long term. Feel sorry for him because he's going to be out for a long time if the reports on his injury are accurate.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Nice try by Genia made by Higgers, we finally have a game.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Scoreline looking a little similar to the other QF but there still some fire in the Reds, they can get back into this one. One of the big problems with Genia going to 10 is the pass at 9 is much slower. Frisby has a tendency to take a few steps before passing.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Lucas will be a big loss, he's had a pretty good game so far and he's spotted that there's space in behind the Sharks with them rushing up in defence.

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Well done Reds there turn an average kick from Harris into a superb one with that chasing.
