British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Its hard to say. He could have easily got a yellow for his efforts. It did look like a shoulder charge into a prone player's head, so I don't think the Lions could really complain too much if he had been sent. Then again a lot of clean outs look like that. But he didn't get carded so no point...

Ah well. In it right to the very end. Well done Lions. Next week no SBW, back to 15 and a little bit grumpy about losing. Will be interesting to say the least. The SBW hate shall now flow from all points. Still think Gatland will be asked serious questions why they could not win by more.

Well shit. If ABs lose by a couple, we will still claim it as a moral victory. If ABs win, then Gatland may not want to read a newspaper ever again.

I think the SBW issue is because he turned his back on the ABs. He could have cemented his place in the backline, becoming one of the all time, great All Blacks.

Man I find it hard to maintain a dislike for old Moneybill when he does stuff like this. http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/international/94053880/lions-tour-sonny-bill-williams-makes-classy-gesture-after-all-blacks-win-at-eden-park

Warren is very pleased. Winning the first test and all since apparently the Maori ABs are almost the same as the real ABs. He can now claim 1 from 4 if it all goes bad. Mid week Chiefs should give them a fright and NZ commentators will get all misty eyed over the legend that is Beaver...

Maori ABs playing like a group that has just come together for one game. Scoreline currently the one expected. Surprised it took till the second halfbefore a lions try. I don't think Shag will be having sleepless nights over what he is watching tonight.

All Blacks v Samoa & Tonga v Wales: June 16

78 - 0. Bench had a bit of an impact. Stiff opposition from Samoa early on but faded away.

Yeah I know. Too many starting players out with NZ Maori and ABs. BUT: We also had a lot of games earlier in the season without topline players, and they know how to play as a pack and work for each other, so I think it will be interesting. Like I said, they should cross the line at least once...

I took great delight in needling my brother during the game, a die hard Canterbury man. He reckons if the Crusaders had played like that last week, the Highlanders would have won. It was like they thought all they had to do was to turn up. Good to see the Lions starting to look like a team...

The whole ethos of the Barbarians is to go for tries. They don't take penalties.

What's naff about it? Its pretty clear it is a special edition. 1904 was the year of the first Lions tour to NZ. I think it looks pretty cool actually. Lions tours are pretty special and what's above is a nice touch.

The Blues Chiefs draw tonight means that the Highlanders have extra motivation to go for a bonus point win, which would jump them to 6th on the table.

I will take the draw. Next best thing and helps the Highlanders' chances of climbing the rankings.
