Playing the Brumbies followed by the Waratahs as the first two games, both away, is a tough (and could be a season defining) call for the team. Wins from these two games would be a big launch into the season. But at the same time two losses might take the wind out of our sails. Our team leaders...

    Pumas v Wallabies, Rosario, 5th October 2013

I agree with you Sully. As I had recorded the game I was watching it a second time. Simmons didn't really do a shoulder charge; his arms were loose. His big mistake was that he didn't try to back off when the ball wasn't going to Contemponi. And Contemponi, if he doesn't want to carry on in...

Why is it that when the Wallabies lose a game , they are playing woeful, and when they win, the other team is playing woeful? To me, the way I see it, is that when a team is winning, they are playing better than the other team, not that the other team is necessarily woeful. Although possibly...

I can't understand why Link should have both Matt To'omua & Bernard Foley on the bench. I'm not putting down either player, but it just doesn't make sense to me to have two inside backs as reserves.

Maybe if you are a totally unfit front rower whose biggest achievement is getting to the next scrum from the last one:p

Yet Quad Cooper was voted the player's player of the match for the Wallabies against the Springbok. So there you are, your concerns in part should be allayed.

Mowen Considering Move To France Over Pay Dispute

Mowen is a handy utility forward, coming off the bench if those others are playing, for either 6, 8 or lock

Mowen Considering Move To France Over Pay Dispute

I put the following post into the Brumbies 2014 thread, but realised it is probably more appropriate here, "Back to Ben Mowen. As Brumbies skipper he'd have to be earning close to $400k there. Plus say 10 games this season with the Wallabies is $140,000. So he is getting over $500k p.a. plus...

    Brumbies 2014

Back to Ben Mowen. As Brumbies skipper he'd have to be earning close to $400k there. Plus say 10 games this season with the Wallabies is $140,000. So he is getting over $500k p.a. plus some sponsorships meaning probably $550k to $600K. His problem (and his manager would know it), is that when...

I'm a bit lost here Hawko, insofaras I really don't understand what you mean by "given Foley's overall philosophy and the cattle available". To quote Ms Hansen, please explain.

But beforehand, like 6 hours, have the assistant coaches take the entire media pack out to an earlier major piss-up, so that they can't condemn your proposed piss-up for the team with their holier-than-thou reporting:D

McCalman is a good impact player off the bench. If you start him, he won't be nearly as effective.

This forum is definitely degenerating with time. It's enjoyable to read meaningful criticism of players, why they are under-performing, and how they might improve. But when you get remarks like: Player A played like shit, or player B is pathetic in defense, of player C can't scrum, you really...

What a week in rugby. The passing away of the great John Hipwell, Jake White resigning from the Brumbies, Wil Ginea again not selected for the Wallabies. It's like being in a back water her in the Reds 2014 post. I'm actually feeling very confident about our chances next year.

    John Hipwell - RIP

As a Churchie dad, I coached and then reffed for the school. Although John was not the Rugby Director, he was always there to advise and assist. Rugby was his life & soul. So now he's up there playing the game in heaven
